this campsite is in a good location for trips and visiting the local area, but for us it was a little to large and impersonal, although I cant really complain about anything apart from the weather :-) the showers were clean and tidy and I never had to wait for a shower, which during half term week was good. it is a large quite noisy park, so if you are looking for somewhere to relax then this might not be the place for you. We were in a tent surrounded by lots of caravans who seemed to be in very large groups, as a result there was lots of noise, although the noise did die down at about 11.30 most nights.

it shouldn't come as a surprise to find a nice campsite, but we've been camping/campervaning for years and have found the prices going up, the quality go down and the camping community change. this site was a refreshing change, and one i aim to re visit at some point soon. its a large site, larger than we had expected so our hearts did sink a bit as we came trundling down the driveway. those fears were soon dispelled once we got settled in. the staff couldn't have been nicer (no really, i don't think they could!) the weather was wet and windy and whilst putting up our awning three members of staff each stopped and checked we were ok and had a brief chat. the shop was well stocked, the toilets are a campers dream and i'm sure the bar was lovely but we never made it there! superb setting on the side of the water and the coastal path kept us walkers and our active dogs very busy. yes its a busy site, yes theres a bit of noise from people enjoying themselves, but would go back... you bet! my only parting comment to the site is that Bob deserves promotion and another star, he's an asset to the team (and possibly the friendliest employee there!)

This camping site is located on the south west coast path on an organic farm behind Chesil Beach to the west of Weymouth Dorset. In the May sunshine it is a glorious area .
The site is discretely located within the folds of the landscape with trees and hedges to minimise the touring park's impact. We heard and saw lots of birds.
The site caters for tents and camper vans. We were camping. The slightly sloping site is very well organised and clean. They have allocated pitches. The ground easy to pitch a tent and the ground comfy to sleep on. We were camping between the numerous bank holidays in May so they organised it that we were not too close to any neighbours, but close enough to the toilet block.
I understand all the refuse is sent off for recycling. Even the sw coast path alongside the site is mown and marked for dog walkers with dustbins at frequent intervals
The toilet facilities have cubicles with wc,basins and showers with no timers on the hot water. So after a hot day s walking you can easily get showered without getting your towel wet.
Out of season this was great.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. There is a well stocked camping shop. There is also a barn where if it were horrendous weather you could shelter without being cooped up in a tent. There is also a bar and restaurant although out of season this was open only on Friday and Saturdays.
I did find the on line booking form daunting as you have to complete date of birth and car registrations. However, we were rewarded by the organisation of the site.
Everyone we met whilst walking spoke highly of the camping site and the locals seemed to just love the area.

Room Tip: no swimming pool but then Weymouth seems to have all kinds of bays where you can enjoy the sand and...

Last week me and my partner decided to go away for 1 night in the tent so I had a look on the internet and came across this place, so glad I did! what a lovely campsite!
Phoned and paid on the day and arrived around 7pm, we had to check in at the bar and was even shown to our pitch by the gentleman that worked there.
As we only stayed 1 night we didn't see the shop or reception but the bar was lovely when we popped in for a drink and game of pool.
very pleased that the toilets behind the bar were nice and clean.
Will definitely be coming back here but for longer next time!
It was so peaceful all night and in the morning and what a beautiful view to wake up to.

Just back from another great stay at this wonderful park.

We are always happy to book to stay again, but this time the check-in seemed more slick (perhaps because we've previously arrived out of hours and checked in at the bar?) and we were in and settled very quickly. The Management team are incredibly helpful, with excellent communication ahead of the booking to enable friends to camp together. The children in the party especially enjoyed the play barn this year as a little respite from the sun and the play-park had new equipment in which gave them something new to try out.
I hadn't made use of the Wi-Fi before so can't figure if that's new, but that's besides the point. Coverage is good and connection fast which allowed us to plan a trip to Portland Castle on the spur of the moment.

In all, I can't praise this site highly enough. Nothing is a problem, facilities are excellent and clean and the price is always a happy surprise, even when I know what to expect.

You deserve your "Best of British" East Fleet!

We stayed having ferried in from Jersey ( and we stayed one night before ferrying out to Jersey). It was great. So dog friendly, quiet, larks singing, walks along the coast path, human friendly, fantastic shower suites-- yes.. suites! Will visit again to taste the beers when the Old Barn is open in season. Revisited my favourite book, Moonfleet, and walked to the church featured in the book. Listened to the book on CD on my way home. Loved my stay.

Stayed 4 nights over the Easter break in our motorhome. Nice level hardstanding pitch and great to have water on the electric bollard so you don't have to walk miles. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The facilities were spotless at all times and we really loved the spacious shower suites. Although the site was busy everything was always clean and we never had to queue for a shower. Lots of children there as you would expect over the school holidays but the play areas were excellent for them. Brilliant position on the shore of the lagoon and lovely places to walk with the dog. Bar very nice. Although we didn't eat in the restaurant the meals looked very nice. Will certainly come back.
