We arrived at the resort at 12 midnight but we were still given a warm welcome by the guy at the front desk. We were given shell necklaces upon our arrival. :) We booked for a bahay kubo room. I wouldn't recommend this if you have kids or you're the type to have frequent trips to the bathroom since the bathroom was on the ground floor. I did not know this since it wasn't clearly specified in the description on the website. Food was good. We enjoyed the meals during our stay. The staff were also helpful and courteous. The beach is was a rip off (according to my five year old daughter) hehehe. Can't do much there except go shell picking or wallow your feet in the water. The pool was great though we spent most the time there since the beach was no good for swimming. There's a jacuzzi but it can only accommodate a few people.

Room Tip: Choose other than the bahay kubo accommodation if you want an en-suite bathroom. The bahay kubo'...

The trip going to Bolinao during holy week was agonizing due to the horrendous build up of cars leaving manila, took me 8 hrs!!! Once i got there, WOW!! Lush greens, flowers in bloom, and warm staff welcomed me. We got a place in the new section of the resort, Sitio Amore and it was perfect! Our villa was fronting the pool . I cant help but rave about this place. The breakfast buffet had a range of excellent offerings and the dinner buffet was a superb!! Our unit was well appointed with modern amenities and the look and feel of the interiors were well thought of! My family had a blast . I promised my kids that we ll be back again soon!!

I would not recommend this resort, specially that it is really far away from Manila. They treat their guest really badly specially at the reception. You are standing in front of them and they pretend not seeing you. They make you wait while they sorting out hotel brochures without even replying to you when you greet them.

We went to their restaurant and waited 30 minutes to get our order taken and then one hour to receive our meals and the place was almost empty. When the food finally arrived it was cold and tasteless. We asked to have it heated and it took another 15 minutes, by then we were not hungry anymore...

The last day my husband asked if we could have a later check-out because I was sick and needed some rest before we headed back to Manila. After many discussions, the woman receptionist agreed to extend for 30 minutes only ....and the hotel was almost completely empty and it was a Sunday. They did not enquire how sick I was and if I needed support.

If you are coming to swim in the beach, then go to another place. The water is very shallow even at high tide, but my children still had fun chasing the little crabs.

TY channels are very scarce and room not well maintained but they have a nice pool.

Granted, this place is such a far drive from Manila, but for the price, I thought the place was exceptional. My family rented out 3 beach villas and one tree house. The villas were a little to close to each other, which turned out great for us as we were in a family reunion event, although I could see how this may not workout for strangers. The rooms were comfortable and clean. They provide amenities, including toothbrushes. Each villa also had a small regrigerator and television is only in the living room, none in the bedrooms. There is a small balcony outside each beach front villa, although the ocean view is hindered by concrete walls (not too high, but it would've been great without the walls and guests could take just a few steps into the beach).

The resort offers massages for P800 (the masseuses are not in house, they call them to come over as scheduled by the guest). There is one restaurant where you dine indoor with air-conditioning or outdoors. My family ate each meal, breakfast, lunch, and dinner in the resort. Fairly priced and fair servings. They urge guests to order in advance since food prep takes about an hour (or maybe that's just for us since we were a party of 30).

The pool is big and there is also a big jacuzzi. There is parking but it is not within the facility no is it where drop-off is, which I thought was rather odd. At least, it's secured with a security person manning it 24/7.

Wifi works only in the dining area (slow) and the main office (better).

There are several Nipa hut lounges at the beachfront for guests to enjoy, at no extra charge. Kayaks are also available, free of charge.

The worst part of our trip was the tidal movement. It was purely low tide when we came, and we had trekked what felt like half a mile into the beach and it was still at knee level. It was rocky underwater, wore flipflops the entire time.

Puerto del Sol IS expensive – on and off peak. This is our second visit here and this time, our stay was on a Holy Week break (April) where the price practically spiked (from P9,000+, it became almost P15,000 plus P1,200 per additional person). Guests pay for ambiance – the lush garden setting with the colorful explosions of bougainvillea and other blooms, and the earth-toned architecture that make the resort look like a medium-sized Mexican pueblo.

We stayed in the casita facing the beach which has two rooms but only one bathroom which may work for couples but was a major bummer for a family with 9 members. Though designed very well, the casitas and bahay kubos beside them are not very well-spaced; we could hear the coffee conversation of another family in the casita which is unfortunate because the resort obviously took pains in landscaping and planning.

You don’t go to Puerto del Sol for the beach – you head over to Patar for that. The beach in front of the resort is shallow even during high tide but guests can beachcomb and during the rainier months even check out the river.

In all my travels, this resort is the only one that closes its facilities soooo early that guests run out of options. We liked the jacuzzi but it is closed promptly at 8 p.m. – the staff turned off the lights and whirlpool even though guests were still there! The pools were closed at 10 p.m. The gates out to the beach were also closed at 10 p.m. which is a bummer for guests who want to stargaze, have bonfires or just walk the shorelines at night. If you are closing your facilities early, then at least, let the guests enjoy their time at the beach fullest.

The PLUS factors: what we appreciated was the considerate nature of the manager, Boyet Milloren, in allowing the kids to try the kayaks (the policy wasn’t clear that kids aged 12 years old and below cannot kayak) which were one of the highlights they enjoyed. The temperature of the pools was controlled so they stayed nicely warm which was perfect after coming in from the sea. We also liked that there were several open huts for lazing inside the compound and also on the beachfront. Best thing is that the resort controls videoke use in consideration of guests like us who like to sleep in a quiet environment.

Room Tip: Casitas facing the beach are nice and quiet (they don't face the pools) but make sure you ask ho...

This resort truly is an epitome of the word "worst". Management, service and quality is at its worst.

We arrived early thursday, around 12pm april 17,2014 and as we arrive, no rooms were yet available so we were accompanied to their nipa hut beach front while waiting for our room. (No payment) we stayed there, ordered drinks and already swam at the beach while waiting. Literally we were already hanging out. After swimming we decided to eat merienda in their restaurant, few steps away from the nipa hut and horror started.
Their waiters im not sure if theyre overwhelmed with guests but they really didnt know what their doing and this waiter, jerry was obviously not happy and a little bit rude. (Not super rude but told us, "baka mag follow up kayo ng follow up, mga 50mins or 1hr and serving namin). We ordered 2 pastas and 1 pancit and it took and hour or so to arrive only to taste the worst pasta we ever tasted.. We just kept adding Salt, pepper, salt and pepper..

That night, we had to eat somewhere else because their kitchen is closed by 9pm. We ordered pancit somewhere else and when we went back, we were charged food corkage of P2000.
Double the food price daw. How in the hell is our pancit P1000? We wouldnt order food from outside if they serve food inside!

We were still okay and not complaining and still trying to make the most out of it..

The next day, we got another nipa hut to start our day. There were three and we were in the middle. we were asked to move to the left nipa hut cos according to the guy, another group will occupy it. We didnt complain and agreed. Trying to enjoy like a human being, we wanted to order our food at the nipa hut but they said it is not allowed, so we left our stuff inside the hut for people to know that there are people staying in the hut. We left the nipa hut for the convenience of the resort.

When we arrived in their restaurant, the waiters said that serving time will be 2 hours followed by "they are not accepting customers anymore." Wow!!!! We had to talk to the manager and ask to fix this issue.

After waiting for hours and eating tasteless food, we didnt complain and when we went back to our nipa hut, there are group of people who are already occupying our nipa hut and the people inside the nipa hut said that the management took our stuff and should blame them.

We talked to the managers, laurie and this other guy telling them how dare they move our stuff without our knowledge and gave the nipa hut to other guests without our knowledge. They dont treat guests equally. They claimed that they paid for it. They didnt even asked us to pay for anything when we stayed there the first day and mind you, we stayed there the last day without also paying. Their management is the worst. The guy who moved our stuff claimed that the group of people cursed him and told him to move our stuff, but why cant they ask them to move? They said sorry and gave us this stupid place without a table and chairs to make it up. We told them that they really should make it up cos we had the worst vacation of our lives and still continue to having the worst vacation.

They next day, we requested for a late check out (a way for them to make it up) but they didnt even agree when we asked first. The second time we called and explained they should be the one offering a late check out or even a discount because of everything that happened, thats the time when they agreed. Worst worst worst resort!!!

If you are from other provinces, maybe you'd appreciate this resort but if youre from metro manila, dont even bother. You'll get disappointed with how these people handle their resort. Petty stuff like salty water from the shower and sink is also low blow but it's understandable since it's pangasinan. Asking for towels took 50mins also. 4 times of calling and following up. Oh and They have only 2 channels. Was so excited to leave this resort. Beach is so dirty. Good thing we had great company to make up for it.

We stayed in Amore Suit which is their newest accomodation (not in their website). It is a 2-storey suit, master's bedroom upstairs with king size bed, t&b with bathtub, 32-inch LCD TV, balcony with inifinity pool view. the room downstairs has 2 queen size bed, t&b, 32-inch LCD TV, small fridge, and small couch. All in all the accomodation is great.

HOWEVER, value for money is poor. Since the suit has 3 beds, (1 king, 2queens), you would expect that the accomodation worth 15k (with buffet breakfast for 4) INCLUDES at least 6 persons; 2 persons per bed. A couple upstairs in the masters bedroom, and the rest of the family downstairs. To our dismay, the 15k accomodation is only for 4 persons; 2 people for the king size bed and 1 person for each queen size bed. Which is RIDICULOUSLY expensive. of course you can maximize the rooms, but with 1k additional per head!

The food is ok, but not superb.
The staff has good customer service, but not great.

The beach has a great white sand, but not that white like in boracay, bohol, or palawan. But if u love to swim at the beach, it is not a good idea for this place coz of the corals; you will most likely get bruised. But the shore is quite good. Since I love spending time at the shore coz I love sand, and I dont really swim in the ocean coz it creeps me out; it's not a big deal for me.

oh another thing, the water from the faucet and shower taste like sea water!

but i enjoyed our stay because I like the interior and exterior design of the resort as compared to other resorts in Bolinao, Puerto is the best among them. we checked other resorts, we didnt like the ambience.
