The anticipation of spotting a wild cat was exciting. Luckily for us, we did catch a glimpse of tiger bathing in a water body. We spotted more animals in the evening safari compared to the morning one!

Interesting place to visit. Can have your food at the nearby pugmark restaurant in the Bandipur Safari Lodge (very clean) . It also has good accommodation for overnight stay. Usually buses are available for safari but try to opt for geep or gypsy (only one of each is available and requires prior booking by personal visit. Saw plenty of deer, bison, elephant and a wide variety of birds. Unfortunately, couldn't see any big cat!

If you're going on a safari in the Bandipur National Park, understand that tiger spotting is purely on luck and there is no guarantee.

There are two options for jungle safari (1) One hour bus ride that will cost you Rs. 300/- per person and (2) Open bus safari for two hours that will cost you approx Rs. 1100/- per person. We saw some open jeeps for the safari but they seem to be unavailable for the general tourists.

During our safari, we were able to see few deers, peacocks and a bison. That's it.
