“Best Kept Secret!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 March 2014

We have just returned from a 2 night break at this outstanding B&B. The room was clean, spacious, comfortable and tastefully decorated with stunning views across the moors. Plenty of choice at breakfast and cooked to perfection. Helpful and friendly hosts and nothing was too much trouble. A lovely "get away" from it all location and would definitely go back - a Yorkshire hidden gem!

We have just returned from three fantastic nights at this wonderful Farmhouse B&B.

Extremely comfortable rooms, very friendly, helpful hosts and a terrific breakfast to start the day.

Everything we could wish for.

Lovely farm house in a quiet location in a beautiful part of North Yorkshire. Cosy rooms with en-suite shower room, tea and coffee making facilities and a beautiful view. We were given bottles of water and fresh milk for our room on arrival. The breakfast was excellent. A very welcoming couple. I would definitely stay here again.

I was doing the Coast to Coast walk, but was disappointed not to be able to book the iconic Lion Inn. Instead I landed on my feet. Andrew, Judith or Laura will collect from Blakey Ridge and transport you to their fabulous Farmhouse, with spotless and comfortable rooms. I then joined the family around the kitchen table, warmed by the Aga, for a roast chicken and vegetable meal that warmed my soul. Character in abundance is added by Charlie the Collie. I decided to walk back up the beautiful Esk Valley to rejoin the Coast to Coast trail. It added 3.5 miles, but on a beautiful blue sky morning it was worth the extra effort.

Really enjoyed our stay at this b&b which is part of a small farm complex. We were travelling with a 18 month year old and the B&B was fully equipped for our stay with a high chair, travel bed, lovely slide in the cottage garden and some friendly young calves! The TV/DVD player in our room was also handy. The room we stayed in had a lovely view over the moors and was nice and large. There was also a nice lounge/breakfast area which we could use. The whole accommodation was well appointed and clean throughout. The b&b is well located for walking and there are some nice pubs and cafe's in the area (in particular the Fox and Hounds, Castleton tea house (nice afternoon tea) and fish and chips at Trenchers in Whitby). Next time we would like to stay for longer - perhaps in one of the Church House Farm cottages which were also well equipped. This is the first time that we stayed in the North York Moors and we also thought the surrounding area was very nice.

My husband and I had the good fortune to stay here for a night while doing the Coast to Coast walk. Andrew and Judith were fabulous hosts and extraordinarily accommodating - from transfers to/from the trail to the glorious evening meal. Judith's minestrone is seriously the BEST I have ever tasted. Our room was spacious, clean, new and very comfortable, and the bathroom was all modern. It was the perfect cure for weariness after a day's walk. Wonderful.

We have just returned from a 2 night stay at Church House Farm, and what a gem it is! The room was gorgeous - spotlessly clean and the owners Judith and Andrew could not have been more accommodating. Stunning views from the B&B and a lovely local pub just down the road. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choice. Can't wait to go back!
