Loved seeing all the menu options on display in the case-made it easy to choose. I had goat twice and goulash the other time. Enjoyed all three meals, and the rest of our group had no complaints. Decent barrel wine, although I also enjoyed the beer. Excellent prices too. Not like other parts of Europe where you need to take out a mortgage to eat.
Definitely would recommend.

We always go to Cavo D'oro when staying on Evia as they have a stunning range of huge pots filled with deliciousness. Goat stew and fish soup are our favourites, in fact we reckon this is the best fish soup we have ever had. Don't be surprised when your dish arrives that it doesn't seem like a soup, another bowl is on its way with the soup part, this is just the fish and veg.

Karystos is blessed with many tavernas stretching along the front but this taverna is positioned up a side street! we have always eaten outside much to the amusement of the locals who, blessed with warm weather most of the year, enjoy their food inside.

The staff are very pleasant and helpful and speak English so can tell you about all the dishes.

Three of us visited Cavo D'Oro today and had a really excellent and reasonably priced lunch.
The meat dishes all looked really tempting - we had pork in a lemon sauce, a pork kebab served in a tomato sauce, goat, briam, gigantes and chips all washed down with some excellent rose wine and beer.

So nice to find somewhere serving such well cooked, traditional Greek dishes. Well done Kyriakos and your team.... we will be back!!

-Tradition: It has been serving traditional Greek dishes in Karystos for many years.
- Location: A small and narrow street. A 5 minute walk from the waterfront.
-Atmosphere: Pleasantly noisy.
- Food level: High and well done. You can pick from the food displayed in the glass showcase.
- Service: Quick and friendly. It is a family run cook house.
-Prices: Are not expensive. It was worth it!

The Karystians are lucky to have this option.

- Recommendation: You have to go early (12-12.30 pm)

- Would I eat there again?: Yes, of course.
