“A lovely stay”
Reviewed 19 March 2014 for a stay in March 2014

We stayed at the apartment for 4 nights and it was a very relaxing stay. The apartment was everything it promised. The furnishings and equipment were very comfortable and we found everything we needed. The complex was quiet - we were out of season - but the weather was hotter than expected!!! We had breakfast on the terrace each morning and sat by the pool in the afternoon. We caught the train to some lovely towns and villages nearby which was cheap and an experience. We would definitely return. We were collected and returned from the airport (arranged by owners) and taken to the apartment at a very reasonable rate and Wendy gave us a brief tour and pointed out so e of her favourite restaurants - we loved The Jolly Sailor. Can't wait to return.

Fantastic apartment, spacious, very clean with all the latest mod cons, including wifi. We spoke with the owners before booking and found out they had only recently purchased the apartment so all the fixtures and fittings were brand new. Very comfy kingsize bed in the main bedroom which had its own en-suite with full sized bath. We didn't use the 2nd bedroom or shower room, but they were both as well appointed as the master bedroom. Opening the shutters in the large lounge, we were greeted with a view of the lovely swimming pool only a few steps away, albeit it was a bit cold for a swim in January. Breakfast on the sunny terrace, however, made a great change from the cold and wet mornings in the UK.

The apartment was only a few minutes walk to the fisherman's huts at the start of the boardwalk, from there we had access to all the cafés and restaurants on the Cabanas sea front. It was quiet as you would expect for this time of year, but there were plenty of places open.

Our favourite restaurants were Sabores da Ria (go for the grilled mixed fish, you won't regret it) and Mariscos e Petiscos which is only a stones throw from the apartment.

We hired a car from Faro and it only took 30 minutes or so to get to Cabanas using the motorway. Having the car also meant we could visit Tavira and had a great meal on the riverside. Tavira is a friendly and lively town with a great shopping centre to explore as you head back towards Cabanas.

All in all we had a great time and have already booked to come back for a whole week in October.
