What a fabulous place for a family holiday - or any kind of away-from-it all holiday, come to that. As a travel journalist I've spent a lifetime visiting holiday hotspots, but few can match the warm welcome, hospitality, and charm of Polean Farm. The self-catering cottages are beautiful conversions, and the safety-conscious surroundings ideal for children who enjoy feeding the animals, riding ponies, or hunting for that's day's batch of freshly-laid eggs. Outside the main holiday season, Polean Farm also specialises in dog-training holidays - all highly professional and very effective. The farm's owners will even recommend scenic walks or direct you to dog-friendly beaches. Beware the farm cat, Tom, however! He loves people, but puts dogs firmly in their place.

Room tip: All the self-catering accommodation is excellent, but - until promised upgrades materialise - the only w-fi is in reception.

We stayed in Rosebud which is clean and has all you need. What really made our holiday was Farmer Keith and his employment of my 3 year old Noah for farm duties. Noah loved feeding the animals and also enjoyed the tractor and horse ride. Thanks for a memorable holiday

We booked this holiday as it was local to a friend's wedding venue and Rosebud had the added advantage of being Friday check in for the wedding on Saturday. We had seen that it was a family friendly place but not fully understood the wealth of activities available for children. Boy were we in for a surprise! We had an amazing week and our 2 and a half year old son had so many brilliant new experiences. Feeding the animals, the tractor rides and pony rides were fantastic. You are free to wander round the farm and whilst initially nervous our son soon came to love visiting all the animals. As others have said Farmer Keith is great with kids and we were treated to many a cry of "Where is Farmer Keith?" from our inquisitive little boy during our stay.
Gran and Gramps came with us along with our 4 month old son and it was a truly fabulous holiday for us all. The farm is a mile from the main road and is lovely and quiet. It is a great place from which to explore Cornwall and there are recommendations for tried and tested family friendly places to visit. These include the Eden Project less than 40 minutes away.
A brilliant holiday. Thanks to all at Polean Farm. We look forward to returning and will definitely be recommending this holiday to our friends.

We've just spent a fantastic week at Polean Farm staying in Rosebud Cottage; 5 adults, 2 boys aged 1 & 2 and a 2 month old baby. Reading through the other positive reviews it's difficult to find anything new to add but I'll try.

As soon as we arrived we were made to feel welcome thanks to the box of provisions (milk, butter, scones, clotted cream, jam & biscuits) that was waiting for us on the kitchen table. Soon after we had a visit from Richard (acompanied by Tag the dog) to say hello, explain what's what & answer any questions we had so straight away we felt settled in.

The accommodation itself was lovely, a nice big homely kitchen space for cooking and eating round the big table and a great big living room with plenty of comfy seats for everyone as well as a wood burner (thankfully not needed despite unseasonally cold temperatures) and doors leading to the patio outside. Upstairs the bedrooms had plenty of space, comfy beds and an ensuite in the room with the double bed.

For the children the highlight was undoubtedly going out to feed the animals each morning, led by Farmer Keith. As others have said he's absolutely great with the kids, going out of his way to learn everyone's name, making sure they all have a turn at feeding the animals and always explaining to them what they're doing & why, making the experience very educational for them as well. Mondays to Thursdays the animal feeding was followed by pony rides or tractor rides which were also great fun, even for the adults who were lucky enough to accompany their little ones being towed around the farm. One of our party (aged 2) was even lucky enough to get to sit on Farmer Keith's lap when he drove the tractor back into the shed, which absolutely made his week.

Location wise the farm is nice & quiet but close enough to plenty of beaches & other attractions. For a family holiday I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Polean Farm to anybody.

My husband, 9 year old daughter, 2 year old son and I stayed in the Rosebud cottage which was extremely spacious and comfortable. My favourite touch was the welcome package in the fridge which contained fresh scones, clotted cream, jam, bread, milk and butter! Fantastic idea, especially as we didn't bring any food with us so after a long drive it was a welcome find and we all enjoyed tucking in!

The farm is set on 30 or so acres of beautiful countryside which is perfectly safe for the children to run around and explore. The play room and playground are great too and were well used by our children!

The best part about the stay was the fantastic farmer Keith and his mornings taking the children (and adults!) around the farm to feed the pigs, goats and chickens! We'd then collect the eggs and finally a fun tractor ride or pony ride! Keith is great with the children, he makes sure every child gets a turn at everything and teaches the children about the animals as we go along. He clearly enjoys it as much as the children!

Thank you Keith and Polean Farm for a lovely family week on your farm, we all enjoyed it so much and we'll definitely be back! Love the Mannings!
