I can`t say enough about this hotel! It is located in the tiny fishing village of Taganga, Colombia. The staff there are top notch! Pedro, the `jack-of-all-trades`, as I called him, was great with translation from English to Spanish, as ours wasn't the best ... The kitchen staff, including Nancy, whom we saw every day of our 5-day stay, were so friendly, and went out of their way to make sure our meals were fantastic! Otilia made sure that our room was always ready, no matter what time we left ... and she is a beautiful person that I miss dearly! Last, but definitely not least, Ruben at the front desk, was so awesome! Even tho there was a bit of a language gap,he made us laugh so many times ... Best of all may be my 'zapata' incident, which I imagine they still laugh over! We made friends for life with so many there, and I can't wait to go back someday! Amazing views, built into the mountain overlooking the fishing boats, great service, amazing food, and friendly, awesome folks that work there! We were only going to stay 3 nights, but couldn't get ourselves to leave! Note ... I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who has a problem with stairs. There is no elevator. I would definitely recommend the Hotel Bahia Taganga to anyone who travels near Santa Marta or Cartagena ... Bus service to and from is cheap and door-to-door. Thank u so very much everyone ... You all made our trip to Colombia one that we will never forget! You HAVE to go here!!!!!

Room Tip: We had room 405 which was perfect in every way!

Bahia Hotel in Taganga is not really good. The room is not very clean and very small. The air conditionner is too noisy. Actually we have No light in our bathroom. This way, if you stay just one night like me, it's ok. But No more.

The architecture and location of this hotel are stunning. Water and landscapes from our balcony were the highlight of the trip. We stayed one night on our way to Tayrona Park. There was 24-hour reception, a safe in the room and free wi-fi. Breakfast was included and room service was acceptable, but the restaurant was not operating during low season.
The entrance is a bit overwhelming as you have to walk uphill with your luggage to get the great views and there is no lift. The reception was not well marked so we walked uphill for longer than necessary. So no good for elderly or disabled guests. Overall a good experience.

Room Tip: Ask for water views but be prepared to have local workers and tourists walking past your window on t...

You need to stay here if you just love a good view. Also get the top floor rooms- if you dont want mold- The lower rooms are pretty bad- but the top once are okay and have amazing views.

The people in the restaurent are very nice- I think the owner is giving them instruction to do the breakfast as cheap as posible. The breakfast is like a hostel with white borring bread and 1 spoon of jam. If you want fruit you have to pay more.. and you already paid more than 160 dollars to stay here!

The internet did not work while we were here and the hottub was cold- The cleaning of the room were bad-
So you stay here for the view- and this you do get!

Room Tip: get the top room- but it can get noisy in the night because of the wind- But at least there are no...

The hotel is nicely located away from the main drag in Taganga. The staff were very helpful on arrival and they helped us during our stay with information and taxi bookings. In Colombia the hotel staff often seem to take a big cut for booking taxis and this was not the case with the Bahia hotel.
The rooms were clean and simple and the views from the rooms spectacular.
We were a party of 3 over the top floor in the hotel. Put simply the top floor is not fit for purpose. The hotel is built onto the cliff face and the wind howls through the top floor all day. We were warned by the concierge that the wind gets worse at night. He wasn't wrong. The wind howled throughout the night like a force 10 gale and it was difficult to open the bedroom door with the balcony door open. It was almost impossible to sleep. The windows rattled all night in their frames. To make matters worse there were wind chimes in the corridor to add to the general cacophony.
So - in short - if you are going to stay here, insist you stay on one of the lower floors. Otherwise you won't get a wink of sleep.

Room Tip: Don't accept a room on the upper floors.

A fantastic place to relax on your way to Tayrona National park.

We stayed in the new rooms at the top of the hotel. They were very clean and comfortable and the views of the bay spectacular. The pool area is a welcome break from the dirty beach below.

Despite the obvious language barriers the staff went over and above to meet our every need/request.

Let’s start by saying Taganga is not a 5 star destination and hotels are scarce we found only two decent places to stay "Hotel Ballena Azul" and Bahia Taganga, if you are looking for five star resorts you are in the wrong place. Well about the Hotel
The hotel is located in the north west end of the bay and is on the hill side, it has a great view of part of the bay and the village, the rooms are clean and all have individual A/C units "Mini Splits they call them" each room has a double and a single bed a TV and a small bathroom with clean towels, Breakfast is included in the price, the price is $129,000 Cop or $73.00us expensive well if you consider the other hotel is $108.00us it is a bargain, I am sure you can find guest houses and other less expensive offerings, but the value is there breakfast was decent fresh tropical juices, and tropical fruits, eggs, coffee etc., Internet access is limited to the lobby and restaurant area, however since they have new administration they are working in a lot of improvements, the staff is nice and accommodating, however they are not bilingual so a few Spanish words will go a long way "A que hora sirven el desayuno" at what time is breakfast, "Cual es la clave de la internet" what is the internet password, "Como funciona el aire" How does the AC works" I found the hard way, well you get the idea, Taganga is beautiful and the Bahia Taganga is a great place to start enjoying there is a ton of outdoors things you can do, or just relax, one thing about Taganga in general, The place is very small and the biggest Disco in town plays Electronic Music and Latin until 1:00am there is no way to escape the Boom, Boom nowhere in the bay, but ant 1:00am sharp all goes off, enjoy.

Room Tip: Try to get a room on the second floor, you might get internet signal
