We only stayed for one night on a stop- over to Pompeii, but we discovered an absolute oasis. The hotel is decorated in a pretty, lavish Italian style. The grounds are amazing with a lovely pool, terraced gardens and wonderful wedding facilities. We had a quad room for my husband , me and my two boys - great size and a balcony leading on to the sunset deck on roof. Amazing view of Vesusius. Recommend to anyone with a car - worth the slight detour off main road. Will go back if possible. Very friendly and very helpful staff throughout. Should be 5 star. Hubby travels A LOT and he was amazed.

We stayed here when we were traveling to see Sorrento, Positano and the Amalfi Coast. The drive to those locations by car was not far, between 30 to 40 minutes depending on traffic. The hotel is beautiful and clean. The rooms were very large and the air conditioning worked very well. The staff was extremely courteous and accommodating. The view from the top of the hotel was beautiful. When we made dinner reservations we were put in the back room with a wedding, eating in the kids section and the DJ. It was quite comical for us and added to our evening. Fortunately, it was torwards the end of the wedding so we were able to have conversation. The dinner and service was great. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend.

Room Tip: We were a family of four and the room was extremely big and there were separate single beds for each child.

Absolutely the best staff I have ever come across in a hotel. Complete from the Proprietor
to the wait staff. The rooms are gigantic even for American standards and emaculate. They truly know what "Service" really is. The hotel itself is so gorgeous, even though we were only there for a vacation, it would be the perfect spot for a wedding in their pool area, complete with waterfall, rooftop jettub, beautiful sunsets, etc. Our rooms each had huge balconies too. We speak some Italian, but the staff does a fine job speaking English too. They will help you with transportation too. Close to Pompeii.
Love this hotel!

Room Tip: We had 3 rooms, and all 3 were huge and beautiful, 2 of them had gigantic balconies.

Though slightly off the beaten path Gragnano is close to Sorrento, Positano and Amalfi. If you are travelling through and have a car it is a great stop over with free parking. the property is brand new and seems like it is geared towards events, mainly weddings. If you are there mid week it is quiet, has a great pool, hot tub and lush gardens. Rooms are large, well appointed and vey clean. Staff was polite, and always helpful. Would stay again.

The Hotel le Zagare is an elegant 5-year old hotel with beautiful grounds, a small swimming pool, tile floors, and large rooms. In addition to hotel rooms, it has large function space for weddings and business conferences. It is convenient for visits to Pompeii, Vesuvius, and other local archeological sites (Oplontis, Herculaneum, Castellamare). The staff is very helpful and anxious to please, but their English is limited. They provided a meal for us when we arrived in early afternoon. We also had dinner there one night along with a busload of German tourists, dessert one night, and a snack another day.

The hotel is in a suburban part of Gragnano with limited dining nearby (a couple of excellent pizzerias). Gragnano is part of the large urban sprawl around Naples. The entire area is congested and rather dingy. Driving is slow and parking anywhere in the area is difficult for Americans used to large roads and parking lots. The hotel is a bit hard to find, but there are many signs for it from Gragnano after you exit from state road 145. It's maybe 3 miles from the exit. It's about a half hour drive to the Naples airport, once you get familiar with the roads.

Overall, we enjoyed our 4 day stay at le Zagare and recommend it highly.
