“On our way home from Marseille,”
Reviewed 15 October 2013

We were taking a trip across the wonderful countryside , without the motorway tolls, and came upon this Auberge 'La Diege' after visiting the local tourist office. The room had ample space with TV etc. The restaurant served a wide variety of traditional French cuisine and included soup as a starter, followed by entrée, main and dessert. The food and waiters were excellent and although they had a large party in on the night paid attention to the hotel guests. This hotel is in a good setting with the breakfast served in the bar area. It has a swimming pool and although we stayed for only one night, it would be a good place for a summer break.

Friendly welcome once I had found my way to Reception - it's not by the front door but behind the bar! Good room, to finish dinner was a struggle such were the portions, quiet sleep and nice breakfast.

We stayed one night for the weekend. The room was nice and clean. The building of hotel was also very pretty, however, the old lady at the reception for check-out, she included breakfast (9 euro per person) which we did not take and we almost payed for it... it was completely her mistake but she even said some jokes to make me feel uncomfortable.
Plus, when we booked on the phone, we confirmed that the price was 55 euro per night but we needed to pay 64 euro because she said that it is still in August. They should be more careful with what they do.

We stayed as a couple at the Auberge de la Diege for two nights while on a holiday tour of the Lot Valley. The building is apparently a converted farmhouse but is now a popular family-run 2* hotel.

The receptionist was very welcoming and took us to a modest but adequate room with bathroom, comfortable bed, fridge and air-conditioning overlooking the terrace dining area and outdoor pool. The evening meals from the 19Euro menu were tasty and filling. Wine prices started at around 4Euros for a carafe and 9Euros for a bottle of acceptable vin de table. Breakfast was also good. The WiFi in our room worked well and there was plenty of light for reading in bed.

The pool was quite busy and there were limited sunbeds and shade around the pool but there were some trees that offered some relief from the hot August sun.

All in all a very pleasant budget stay.

Great hotel. Dinner served on the terrace by the pool. Food great! We couldn't get our air-conditioning to work properly, so we were promptly moved into a room where it did work.
Beautiful surroundings. Would return.
