We had one night here and will definitely return. The Garden Cottage was spotlessly clean, of a very high standard and with plenty of space. The breakfast was superb, cooked to our individual tastes. Location quiet, peaceful and within walking distance of good pub.

Room Tip: Garden cottage is great

My husband and I stayed here with some other family members on the occasion of our daughter's wedding. Our room was very comfortable, spotlessly clean and warm. There was a small kitchen area well stocked with all kinds of teas, hot chocolates, coffees etc....even biscuits; and a lovely wet room with beautiful full-sized hair and shower products, luxuriously thick towels and bathrobes.
But the breakfast next morning was amazing! Our hosts Shelagh and Malcolm had asked us to choose from an extensive menu featuring all locally sourced food and the next morning set up a beautiful breakfast table in our room laden with fresh fruit, yoghurt, beautifully cooked full English breakfast, toast and wonderful fresh Chilterns honey....plus our individual teapots with our choice of tea.
When we were ready to leave, Malcolm very kindly offered my brother a lift to the wedding venue to pick up his car, so saving us having to get a taxi. A wonderful stay and would heartily recommend it to others. Thank you Shelagh and Malcolm.

We found Garden Cottages by happy accident whilst looking for somewhere handy for the Roald Dahl museum and spent just a night there, although we wish we had stayed much longer!

The 'West Wing' rooms are absolutely spotless and beautifully presented. The fabulous bathroom is packed full of Molton Brown goodies, the towels are huge and fluffy, the bed really comfortable and the pillows squishy. Perfect! Shelagh and Malcolm are really lovely, welcoming hosts - nothing was too much trouble for them and they are a mine of information when it comes to the local area, eating out, etc.

Last but, oh my goodness, certainly not least, the breakfast. No wonder it has won awards. I have never had such a great breakfast. I think it says it all that, when our six year old son was asked by his teacher to talk about his visit to the Roald Dahl museum, he talked about his breakfast and nothing else! Very, very highly recommended, can't wait to return.

My partner and I spent three comfortable nights over the Christmas season in this impeccably clean and luxuriously appointed B&B. The shower-room/wet-room was a treat. The kitchenette was so convenient for that early morning cup of tea, toast and honey. (We were unable to take advantage of their award-winning breakfast as we ate with our relatives a few miles away). We were snug and warm in the winter cold. Our hosts, Shelagh and Malcolm were most hospitable and welcoming.

We would highly recommend this B&B to other travellers.

We spent two nights in the self catering room, with our 5 month old daughter. The room itself was great as were the welcome flowers and cup cakes. A lovely host for whom nothing was too much trouble. She prepared a delicious breakfast each morning from an extensive menu with impressive home made bread. Good value too. Would highly recommend.
