We needed somewhere to stay the night of my sister in law's 40th birthday. My mother-in-law found Origins the White Lion. It's an old pub that's now a really nice tapas bar restaurant. They've got 3 x b&b rooms upstairs. I think we (my wife and I) paid around £70 for a large double. My family took the other two rooms. There's one large double, and one large twin at the front and a medium double at the rear. The rooms were nicely decorated, very clean, and comfortable. Nice bed.
We dumped our things in our room around 5pm, and headed down to the bar. Great service. And WONDERFUL tapas. We ate at the bar perched on some comfy bar stalls. We then headed off to our party. As the restaurant shuts at 11:30pm we arrived back to a peaceful establishment and let ourselves in - and back up to our comfy rooms.
Although our room overlooked the high street it's a very quiet road, plus it was well double glazed. So enjoyed a decent lie in. Made a nice cup of tea - fresh milk in the mini fridge - nice touch. Headed down to breakfast at 0930. Nice continental - cereal, croissants, jams/cheeses/ham/salami and fruit salad, juice, tea/coffee. Attentive service.
Left a happy customer. Well done!
