Booked for 3 nights for a wedding, beautiful building and grounds, however the rooms in the separate accommodation block are tiny and the supposed 'double bed' was only a 3/4. The shower didn't work properly and the bathroom radiator was stuck on full, apparently the case in all of the rooms, which meant the whole bedroom was ridiculously hot even though we had the windows open all day and night. The breakfast was fine and the staff are friendly however after 2 sleepless nights we decided to drive home even though we still had to pay £70 for the 3rd night as we just couldn't face another cramped night in the room. The wedding day itself was lovely and the staff were great but we should have booked accommodation at one of the local pub/hotels I think which are within easy walking distance. We didn't see the bedrooms in the main abbey building I assume these are of a better standard. The hotel should state that it's double rooms are not actually suitable for 2 people to stay, I suppose as a conference venue they are ideal for single attendees, but not for wedding guests which is a real shame as it took the shine off the venue.

Room Tip: All the rooms we saw in the separate accommodation block were tiny with a very small bed, I don'...

Myself and my Wife just had our wedding there Friday 24th May. Absolutely amazing venue, 5 star staff and just overall great day. Could not have asked to have the wedding at any better place. Recommend to anyone at the drop of a hat. Wedding Planner Louise exceptional.

What a beautiful setting! Shame about the room! I suppose what comes to mind is "you get what you pay for"! It was a beautiful setting the hotel from outside was gorgeous. The village was beautiful. Staff were courteous but didn't follow complaints through! It indeed looked a bargain on paper was really excited about our trip. On arrival to our room noticed everything was one of, one pillow one towel, rang down to reception and they bought towels and pillow up. Then we realised that there was only one cup and enough tea for one. We were going out for the evening so we called at reception to ask for more tea and coffee so we could get a cup of tea in the morning, yes that was no problem, but it was not done! The Bed was the smallest double bed I have slept in! Definitely not suitable for a man I'd 6feet 4! And there was only one bedside table and a gap where the other one should have been.
Breakfast would have been okay if it wasn't dried out! The choice was good but spoilt by being cold and dry!
Such a shame that no one cares enough about such a beautiful place to get it right!

This hotel is primarily a conference centre. My visit was at a time when there was no conference in place, so the place was no 'overrun'. The building and grounds are impressive, and the gardens and open spaces are well tended. The accomodation was clean and functional, and the public rooms welcoming. Staff were cheerful and helpful, and the food was of a high quality. Good value for money.

A business conference in Aylesbury led to an overnight stay here at Missenden Abbey. This is a conference centre and has a lot of style on the outside, but the overnight accommodation is in serious need of a refresh. The staff were great, courteous, helpful and pleasant. For £49 per night double, it looked a bargain but crikey, the room had the smallest double bed I've ever slept in. A large single would be a better description. Shower facilities clean and efficient but the carpets looked like you should keep your shoes on. Breakfast was excellent. Parking simple and if you're heading for north or central London, not bad for trains. Overall, I would recommend the hotel but please keep your expectations to a minimum.

We had our wedding here and had a thoroughly excellent day. Fortunately the weather held and we were able to make full use of the gardens which overlook countryside and provide lots of options for photographs. The food was better than we had expected although the dinning room arrangement isn't ideal. Our only real disappointment was that whilst the staff were very polite and helpful planning our event, there was a problem on the day which occurred when out wedding planner had left for the evening. There was not any plans in place to cover this with the remaining staff unable to make discussions to rectify the situation. Sadly, we feel our complaint was not taken seriously afterwards with written correspondence and phone calls not being responded to and no form of apology offered. Maybe a case of once they have got your money, they don't want to know. This is a real shame as it left a bitter aftertaste to what had otherwise been an excellent day.

Stayed here for a business workshop. Rooms are small and need a refresh. Public areas however are nice and food was good. Service was very good, staff friendly and helpful. Easy to find and parking no problem.
