We only did the one day trip with Jungle Tours as I wish we had more time to stay overnight in beautiful Cape Tribulation.

During our full day, we got an amazing up close look at all the wild animals that are located in TNQ, even held a Koala (that pooped in my gf's hand :) which you cant do everywhere. We chose a nice weather day to cruise the Daintree river and saw some baby crocs. Finishing off with a rainforest excursion walk allowed us to escape the heat and learn about the ecosystem and see some of the interesting ground dwellers. Chilling on Cape Trib was a perfect way to finish the trip and then back to Cairns.

Highlight that everyone will remember, the Biodynamic Ice Cream and its unusual array of tasty flavours in the middle of the rainforest. three tubs wasnt enough.

Thanks Travis, great host.

If you join this tour and are greeted by a beautiful barefooted hippie gal with dreads to her tush, you are in GREAT hands. I'll admit that I was a bit apprehensive before joining this tour, after hearing from a couple people at the hostel that it was mediocre at best. Fortunately the tour exceed by expectations BY FAR! Nic was one of the best guides I have had, and I've been on a LOT of tours. She has an abundant knowledge of the local area, being raised in the rainforest, and brought the history of the area to a personal and understandable level that was easy to connect with. Although the tour is a bit expensive, keep in mind that you are paying for gas (3 hours from Cairns each way), entrance to a wildlife refugee, scenic croc cruise, and entrance into the Daintree Rainforest... and lunch. I'd say it's a lot of bang for your buck and a must-see for anyone visiting Cairns area. Absolutely loved it.

This was a well organized day trip. I did not expect anything out of trip apart from the jungle surfing activity, but the visit to "the habitat" opened up the day well. Please do not miss out the food feeding tour there. It was a well organized tour and great explanation about the habitat and the wildlife there. The later half of the day was a fun filled activity with the jungle surfing activity. I really enjoyed it as this was the first time I did an activity of this type. The jungle surfing tour could have been organized in a better way with some good explanation about the vegetation in the cape tribulation and a dedicated person who can pictures during the activity since its very difficult to take pictures during this activity. If not I think its a great day tour from Cairns.

The trip was so-so and not worth that price. We went to a wildlife park and saw koala and kangaroo which most tours cover this part actually. Then we had picnic lunch and its too wild for me to lunch with so many mosquito.

The rainforest was nothing special. Lastly, we went to cape tribulation. We thought the cape tribulation would be much prettier but it's not the case. We were disappointed when we saw it.

Overall, the trip was just so-so. Though the tour guide was nice, he seems never connected with us and didn't explain much to us about every scene.

Thanks for your feedback, and sorry to hear that you felt the day was only so-so.

The wildlife park we visit on the tour, Wildlife Habitat, is particularly unique as it provides a window into the diverse landscapes of the Wet Tropics region and the species you find here. There are koalas and kangaroos that you can see in other zoos, but there are also unique species such as the Lumholtz Tree Kangaroo and the only pair of breeding storks in captivity.

We have the picnic lunch in a rainforest surrounding as this is all part of the experience in visiting Cape Tribulation and the Daintree - it is a wilderness region.

We pride ourselves on having engaging and informative tour guides, although if you were quite disappointed with Cape Tribulation in general then perhaps your guide on the day may have found it a bit difficult to connect with you.

The tour starts at the Wildlife Habitat in Pt. Douglas. This is a very nice park, far better then the one in Kuranda. Get there right when it opens, buy one bag of Wallaby food and head right to their enclosure. They mobbed us for the food as we were the very first people through the gate.We were then met by our guide and bus driver, James, who as it turned out, made a very slow day enjoyable with his knowledge of the area and his valient attempt to keep the excitment flowing. The bus ride is long but scenic and the cable ferry ride and drive through the Daintree Rainforest is very interesting and beautiful. Unfortunately, because of the off tourist season, our tour was actually made up of other tours that first required some of us to sit around for an hour while some people did a river cruise, then again wait while some other people left on a jungle trek. We were lucky that a friend of James accompanied us on the tour and expertly entertained us on a didgeridoo, including lessons, while we waited at the river. This was definitely a tour highlight! The lunch was dismal. It consisted of two coldcuts, buns from a bag, two salads, and apples still sporting the label stickers on them. Refreshment was a jug of unchilled water and a squeeze bottle of lime flavoring to turn it into koolaide should you prefer. There was no water available on the bus. Do as we luckily did, bring your own water and snacks. The zipline adventure was well done. Our guides were conscientious, careful, and very personable. With only five of us on this adventure, rather then the possible 20 at a time that they can accomodate, we were given very individual attention. The zipline stations are rather short, but for a first time zipliner, as we were, the adreneline still flowed freely. Consider this tour as a Loney Planet kind of adventure and don't expect to be pampered. It is a hot, sticky, slow, bad food, great guides, wonderful scenery, adreneline filled, real Aussie atmosphered long day that somehow left us smiling at the end of it all. Well worth the price.
