We stayed for 2 nights from July 24-26, 2013 with our large family spread out over 4 separate 3-bedroom villas. The villas were modern, clean & spacious. Each bedroom had its own bathroom, and the large kitchen was convenient for eating as a group. Our huge balcony had two lounge chairs, a plunge pool, and outdoor dining and seating area - all overlooking the ocean!

The resort itself is spread out beautifully, breakfast offers gourmet selections and the double infinity pool is gorgeous (& heated!) The complimentary hourly boat shuttle to & from Ile aux Cerfs is extremely convenient. The private beach for Anahita at Ile aux Cerfs is pretty, but very quiet (and the waves are quite choppy). The public beach at Ile aux Cerfs (2nd stop) has shallow & calm waters and is more lively - with restaurants, shops & ample water activities.

Service everywhere was top-notch. Tasty iced tea & cold towel upon check-in registration, lovely welcome letter in room and snacks waiting in the villa, bottled water and fresh towels delivered nightly. Many family members used the free bike rentals to explore the nearby area. Lastly, we golfed one day at Anahita, and the Four Seasons course was absolutely breathtaking.

5 stars all around - we only wish we could have stayed a bit longer!

Room Tip: We stayed in villa 1504 - gorgeous ocean view on the 2nd floor.

Spent over a week with family, beautifully appointeded apartments suitable for families, with backyard sloping down to sea, many water sports included as part of the package - such as waterskiing, kayaks and snorkeling - which involved driving into the bay in a speed boat to reefs and was breathtaking , staff unfailingly polite but some communication difficulties - like when we wanted to sail hobbie cats or snorkle and it looked like the staff weren't interested they would say that the tide was wrong, come back tomorrow, or asking for tea or soap or a DVD and be referred on to housekeeping who would always say "yes sir", but not always know what you were asking for .
The grounds are beautifully landscaped and the beach is how you would imagine a tropical beach to be, palm- fringed with sun lounge chairs, an infinity pool - but we were in the low season and some times it was eerily empty. Sports facilities - tennis courts, bicyles, golf course, water sports - easily available with helpful staff and in good condition.

Overall a calming, well-maintained resort, pleasant staff and luxury accomodation we had a great holiday.

We had 3 villas for our group of 6 adults and 6 children 10-16 years. Lovely and spacious. Wonderful balconies and storage. We do not speak French and the instructions for the washing machine was in French. There were no instructions with the coffee maker, oven and microwave. Unlike other hotels and resorts no milk or biscuits in the room.

The water sports and staff were excellent as was the golf and golf pro,the pool and staff particuarly Jessica, the restaurant staff at breakfast and dinner were exceptional they went out of their way to accommodate us. The best staff ever. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the concierge Dave.Affable and all talk.Over the course of over a week he was asked-at least 5 times- to provide us with a letter for insurance purposes. The Resort was not at all busy.

The food. Same breakfast every day. We mentioned to fabulous staff member Ashvin that we liked Indian food and from then on we had magnificent Indian food at breakfast. The dinner menu was old fashioned, boring and limited. Once again, the staff were totally receptive to making us what we wanted. The best food was at the golf course restaurant, unfortunately it closes at 7. I have read about the food on other travellers comments and nothing appears to have changed.
The location is amazing.
There needs to be alot more communication about the activities on offer.

Room Tip: We were exceptionally happy with our villas 1501,1502,1503.

The upsides:
First things first, the Resort property is extremely pretty! We wanted a property which was away from the fan fare and crowd, and thats exactly what we got!

The golf course (though operated by Four Seasons on the same property) is fantastic!! Extremely scenic, beautiful greens n fairways!

But most importantly, the staff was the game changer! Everyone maintained an excellent attitude and ensured we felt welcome during our stay! I was amazed at the consistency in their performance and willingness to go the extra mile for us! The staff was well groomed, was extremely warm, polite and carried a 'willing to help' attitude!

Our Villa was gorgeous! spacious 3BHK with a lovely garden and a wonderful plunge pool, was ideal for us! The cutlery and crockery in the kitchen deserves a special mention.

The resort pool is amazing, especially the baby pool, which starts with ankle deep water and goes up to 4 feet at the other end.

The bar is very well located - partially on the beach and partially on the property, with amazing views all round! The drinks are relatively well priced as well, if that matters!

A lovely play area for kids and children keeps them busy too!

The resort has a lovely spa too with some good massages, however, its nothing different from a spa u will find in a 5 star.

The downsides:
Food is pretty good generally, however, little choice for vegetarians. Further, I think the variety and the menu @ breakfast has scope for improvement. Found the breakfast extremely repetitive n monotonous.

Renting a car from the resort is exorbitantly expensive.

Probably the only reasons i give it 4.5 stars and not 5 stars!

Overall, surely recommend to everyone seeking a holiday with family (or otherwise) in a classy 5 star (away from the regular hustle bustle), quality service, beautiful environment, peace and tranquility!

The resort itself is very nice, although the man-made beach is not that impressive.
The rooms are spacious and nice but not really luxurious. We had a two bedroom suite which was nice because our baby had her own bedroom, so we could stay up while she was already asleep.
As we were travelling with our seven months old baby we found the room not ideal for a crawling baby. The tiling on the floor was very cold obviously and the existing carpets were very dirty and had a very rough surface where she would hurt her hands and legs if dressed according to the climate. Apart from that our apartment was on two levels so there were some stairs from kitchen to living room and from bedroom to bathroom, which was also not ideal for the baby.
A plus was the washing machine in the kitchen.
The golf course is great and was not too crowded while we were there. It was always nice and relaxing to play. The course and practise facilities were in excellent condition.
The most disappointing thing was the food in the restaurant.
Breakfast was ok but choices were limited, not what I would expect in a 5 star hotel mainy cheap local stuff. Lunch was ok, at least some items on the menu. But dinner was really bad. We had booked half-board in advance and paid about 55 Euros per person per night for dinner. We could either eat a three course a la carte dinner or choose the daily theme buffet (which is the same every week, so if you stay longer than a week it will repeat). The buffets were really poor, with very low quality food.
Meat for example was just chicken and beef and not the nice parts of that.
Choices would strongly depend on the number of guest at the resort. If they had only few guests choices would be very limited. It was mainly local food while in a 5 star resort we would have expected some international items as well or some pasta or a steak... we have been to other places like Tahiti and Bora Bora where food quality was much better at comparable prices.
The positive thing about that was the the staff at the restaurant noticed very quickly that we were not happy with the food and they really tryed their best to make us happy by asking what they could cook for us, etc. We really appreciated their outstanding efforts to make us happy.
They were all very nice and provided excellent service.
Generally the staff was very nice and helpful apart from the concierge and reception guys who sometimes did not seem keen to be bothered by guests.
Weather was great in January. Warm, but not too hot and only litlle rain, a lot less than expected.
The resort is far away from everything, so you need a car if you want to explore the island.

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments following your stay at Anahita The Resort in January last.

We are pleased to note that the staff in general have provided excellent service and that you have thoroughly enjoyed our golf facilities among others.

We understand that the food in our main restaurant has not been up to your expectation and would like to express our most sincere regrets. The food concept at the main restaurant is based on a “Mauritian Bistro” style where much emphasis is laid on fresh local produce. Our guest have as well the possibility to choose from the other dining venues available on the estate where the half board credit still applies.

Your observations have already been taken into consideration and our team have been briefed on the shortcomings that you have experienced. We would like to reassure you of our genuine commitment towards excellence and thank you again for your constructive comments.

Kinds regards

This resort is amazing, it offers a variety of activities. Ranging from kayaking to scuba diving. They have tons of free activities which are fantastic and some offer great views of the lagoon. Food is also amazing, they offer a different themed buffet every night including Mediterranean, Indian, seafood and steak night. But the a la carte menu is also very appealing
This place is very family orientated, they have a kids club as well as a teens club offering older activities for the older ones.
Service is top class and everyone is so kind. At Anahita it is service with a smile.
Golf is included in your trip and basic golf lessons are also included. The golf course is fantastic and offers great views also of the lagoon.
I recommend this resort to every one couples, families and friends.

Room Tip: Sea view suite on ground floor
