Stayed for 6 nights in the Yin Tian, Luiyang in Feb 2009.
A lot of business associates stay here throughout the year and although this was my first stay, everyone in my industry says that this is the ONLY place to stay in Luiyang.
Located on the outskirts of town along the river bed, it's a 10 minute walk to the centre with it's shops and markets.
The hotel restaurant is not recommended, however there are a couple of great local restaurants serving excellent local cuisine and some western dishes aswell. (Cornfield Coffee and Canvas Coffee) the latter only being a month or two old.
I stayed in a single room which had a huge super king bed, luxury bath / wetroom with a great shower and bath. A nice touch was the separate tap for drinking water and all for 388 RMB a night, a double room I believe was 470 RMB a night and both included breakfast which was ok.
Each room had free internet access which was a nice touch.
Cons. The hotel was opened sometime in 2006 I believe and although its only 3 years old its starting to look a bit rough round the edges if you look hard enough.
Upon check in you will need a credit card to leave a sizeable deposit. They originally wanted 7000 RMB, but I negotiated this to 5000 RMB, however this is just a swipe of your card. This appears to be a new initiative. Probably due to the various things that go missing or get damaged in rooms.
