Climbing the Sanyuan Tower, located on the outskirts of Leizhou, provides a great view of the city and it surrounds. Although the climb might be a bit steep and vertigo-indicung for young primary school age students, the panorama can still be enjoyed to a lesser extent from only a few levels up. The tower is located in a well-kept temple complex surrounded by an old trafficable wall. The complex includes a number of classic Chinese elements such as an entry portal, pond, bridges and courtyards. It used to house the stone dog collection but that has now been relocated into the city centre. Well worth a look if you are in Leizhou.
