“China's Best Museum”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 March 2014

I have lived in China for 11 years, visited dozens of museums, and this is - by far - the very best. The collection is spectacular and - almost as important - the displays and facilities are first-rate. If you're in Chengdu, this is worth the 90 minute drive. Not to be missed.

“fantastic”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 February 2014

Visited this about 5 years ago while in Sichuan on business. Not to be missed - the exhibits are a fascinating insight into a little known ancient civilisation. I was lucky to be taken there by my hosts. If travelling independently from Chengdu a taxi is probably best, as it seems to be "in the middle of nowhere".

“Fabulous and unusual museum”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 August 2013

A well laid out modern museum in attractive gardens. Good information in English. Fabulous exhibits of ancient bronze artefacts, particularly the famous masks - awesome! Highly recommended. I cycled there but it's 65km north of central Chengdu and not easy to find - a taxi is probably easiest!

“Lots of English, Great Exhibits, Very Interesting”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 July 2013

We took the bus (North Station, bus to De Yang, but stopped at Guanhan) there and a private car back (20RMB on the bus each, then a 20RMB taxi, 130RMB for the taxi) . It was an excellent museum with lots of English information. The masks are amazing. The grounds are gorgeous. There is nothing to eat close by so I recommend going on a full stomach. Make sure you see all the rooms because everything is incredible. Highly recommended. It does take more than a half day to see it all. Tickers are 82RMB each.

“Not to be missed!”

Fantastic view of bronzes, pottery, and relics from the SHU people - really beautiful layout - we especially appreciated how they compared the cultures with previous ones
Do not miss the Bronze Trees at the end of building 2....
