Kaiyuan is an industrial city and transportation hub in southern Yunnan, linking China with Vietnam via the port of Hekou, about 200 km south. If you happen to find yourself in Kaiyuan on business, this hotel is one possibility.
I stayed here with Chinese friends during fall Golden Week holiday (Mid Autumn Festival plus National Day) after attending a wedding nearby. Got the impression that Kaiyuan didn't offer too many lodging options, though I could be wrong.
The hotel was clean enough but everything was about half broken or otherwise in need of maintenance and repair and refurbishment. Beds were harder than what one usually finds in this level of Chinese-only establishments and kind of bumpy as well. Like sleeping on planks strewn with gravel.
The room windows had double glass, which made it quieter inside the room. Hot water was plentiful, and a basic buffet breakfast in the morning was included at no extra charge.
My room had an ancient computer, but I could not get it to work. Didn't ask for help from the front desk, since it was late.
