“Absolutely beautiful with great staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 April 2013

Our family group of nine stayed for four nights in this beautiful hotel. The grounds are open and spacious, the white sand beach is small but completely private and is cleaned regularly. We occupied two whole thai houses (4 rooms) and found them ideal but couples travelling alone should probably choose a Bali bungalow if you want more privacy . The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. We loved the well planned en suite outdoor shower rooms. The rooms also have very efficient air con, fridges and TVs with dvd players. The pool is absolutely beautiful and sparkling clean. In addition to all this the staff are lovely. Bom and his team worked extremely hard to make sure we had a good time, eveyone smiled and greeted us while going about their tasks and several were happy to join us in a game of beach volleyball. The food in the hotel was very good, with a wide range of choices, thai and western. The buffet breakfast included excellent omlettes cooked to order.
We went out diving with the resident Paradise Divers and found them to be excellent, relaxed but without compromising safety. Sadly visibility was not great .
Having ridden a moped all over the island I am delighted to report that the Koh Kood Beach Resort is the most beautiful hotel we found and a great choice for a family or a romantic break

Room Tip: Choose Thai houses 1 and 2 or 5 and 6 . The others do not have a lovely view.

Our third visit, which says it all. Five hours by road from Bangkok (or 1 hour with Bangkok Air to Trat) and then a 2 hour ferry trip is all worthwhile when you arrive at the totally unspoiled island of Koh Kood, just off the Thai / Cambodia mainland. Manager Dom has already arranged to pick you up at the ferry, good job, there are no buses,or taxis.
The resort is kept immaculate and the staff are so naturally friendly that they feel like friends for life. Accommodation is in Thai or Bali style bungalows that are clean and generous enough in size, bathroom is open to the stars but you soon get used to and enjoy it. Dining room is open sided overlooking the Bay, meals and snacks whilst not fine cuisine are as good as Mum cooks, with a a good choice of Thai and Western. It is located right on a lovely sandy beach and there is also a super infinity pool overlooking the sea. Free kayaks, beach balls etc.
The island is small and most people are happy with a one week stay although we just chilled for four weeks..

Room Tip: Keep a secret ?, treat yourself to the Sunset suite on the hilltop. Kitchen, superb lounge/dining, l...

Getting up at 5 am followed by 4 hours drive and 1 1/2 hour by boat, it just should be good - and it was. Arrived at the beautiful located resort and well received by polite staff made the efforts worth. The rooms are nice and comfortable with a open natural bathroom which just fits very much in to the natural surroundings. A really great thing is that the free space are kept at the resort and the the buildings fits well in with the environment what many resort owners forget in their hunt of max capacity. Food is great and very reasonable and drinks are also priced very low, making it easy to decide on another one. Wish the cocktail Happy Hour started a little earlier.

Room Tip: If traveling with children chose the jacuzzi rooms, they love it and makes it easy for you to keep a...

End of November, I stayed three nights in a Bali house.

I sent an e-mail to give them our arrival time at the pier and they sent someone to pick me up when I arrived and when I was leaving, they drove me back to the pier and waited with me the speedboat which has 25 minutes delay to go to Koh Chang.

I came from Koh Mak and it took only 25 minutes by Bang Tao speedboat to get here. When I left, I took the Kai Bae speedboat of 11 am to go to Koh Chang (Klong Prao Beach) with a stop at Kok Mak, Ko Wai. Otherwise, you can take the Bang Tao speedboat of 9 am or noon to go to Koh Chang (Bang Tao) (same price : 900 baths/person). The journey took 1 h 25 and the transfer from the pier to your resort in Koh Chang is included in the price. You can book your speedboat ticket at the reception of the resort.

The furniture of the bedroom is a bit old fashioned but you have a nice outdoor bathroom with a shower gel and a shampoo dispenser. The floor is made of wood and the terrace has a coconut palm in the middle. The room is equipped with a TV a DVD player, a safe and a minibar.

I really appreciated the natural surroundings of this resort with their beautiful garden with their coconut palms. They have a lot of furniture in wood. It is the first time that I can see such maintenance of the wood in a hotel (I appreciate the wood very much).

If you don't rent a motor bike, you depend of the hotel for everything because there are almost no shops or restaurants in the near surroundings. The restaurant is very good but expensive for Thailand: 150 baths for a pad Thai, but keep in mind that you are on a small island.

The breakfast buffet is consisting of egg station, salad, banana, watermelon, pineapple, fresh juice, water, potato, ham, bacon, pancakes and vegetables (depending of the day: tomato, onion, etc.).

The infinity pool is very beautiful. There are 16 sunbeds with a mat and 10 sunbeds next to the beach. This is small beach and not one of the best to relax.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. You can borrow DVD, mountain bikes, kayak with a deposit. On 28th November, they drove 8 guests for free to the Loi Krathong Feast (light feast which takes place once a year).

You can snorkel from the beach and you can even have a test dive in the swimming pool (for free) with Paradise Divers.

WiFi is available for free only at the restaurant and there is also a PC should you may use to check yours mails.

You have to pay the totality of your stay when you make your reservation and the hotel charge you 3,5 % for the Visa payment (also when you pay your bill at end of your stay). As this is a small hotel, don’t forget to book at least 4 months in advance for the peak season (they have only 8 Bali houses. There are other bedrooms available but you have to share the terrace with a second bedroom).

I will recommend this resort.

There is really nothing to complain about. Koh Kood Resort had all the things a resort should have. It was free to borrow kayaks, snorkling equipments, breakfast, wifi (a little bit unstable) and towels to use in the resort area. The food was good, but after some days I got quite bored of the menu.

Borrowing a motor bike and ride around the island is very recommendable. We did that 4 of the days we stayed here, and it was awesome. The resort do not have a beach to lie on, but it wasn´t far away (at least with a bike) to the nearest beach. The beaches on the island were unbeliveable!

Koh Kood Beach resort is idyllic! It has a big dining room overlooking the beach with gently waving palm trees much in evidence. The A frame rooms are clean, comfortable and cosy. The outdoor bathroom is fun - although it did not rain while we were there. The staff members were fantastic - couldn't do enough for us and shared their lovely sense of humour. The food was fantastic and the buffet breakfast a surprise given the fact the resort is so small. It is a pity the island of Koh Kood is so hard to get to - it took most of the day.

Room Tip: The A frame rooms all have pool and ocean views.

I stayed here for 3 nights with my girlfriend on a romantic holiday.

We loved every second of it, the Bali Bungalow was very nice to stay in, and we loved the idea of the toilet being outside (but still private).

The food at the restaurant was very good (my girlfriend is a chef so quite picky with the food).

The people working at the hotel very helpfull, they even arranged a tour around the island, even though we were only us to going on it.

I would love to come back some day.

They even have a huge collection of DVD's if you care to watch them.
