We ate Thai food, not fish n chips or the loathsome pad Thai westerners seem to love. The only decent pad Thai I have eaten is at a speciality Phad Thai restaurant on the road well outside Chiang Rai, where you will only find Thais eating. I have lived in Thailand, and had many holidays, eating street food, Thai restaurants and high end Thai. I love Tom Yum Goong soup, and this restaurant delivered a very tasty one indeed. We have also eaten various other Thai dishes, and also the ubiquitous Satay Chicken, which they serve with garlic bread to please the heathens, and it was a rather nice addition, although it is Thai garlic bread so don’t get too het up! The staff are super friendly.
