Cham's House is a 2 year old resort, which is on a nice stretch of beach. It lacks a bit of atmosphere and charm. We stayed in a pool villa with beach view, which was nice and paid THB 6500 per night including breakfast. That is a fair value, but this place is not worth it's high season prices.

Dear Valuable Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to describe your feelings during your stay at Cham’s House & Spa.
I agree that at the rainy days the atmosphere and charm in a tropical island are not able to be compared with sunny days and crystal clear water as expected during an island holiday.
We will continue to make different special promotions every year (except during the peak season).
I hope that in the future one of our next special deals will seduce you again.
Most sincerely,

Basically, it was nice with friendly staff. However, it was overpriced in spite of incomplete construction and untrained staff. The room was spacious and nice but there were many geckos' scat and ants on the bed as well as many antflies in the bathroom. When we stayed there, it was raining everyday so we couldn't enjoy the beach or waterfall trip. To be honest, there are nothing around the hotel, very isolated. We just stayed at room and tried its SPA. The SPA was not luxury one (just image local massage). We had it in the room under construction. There were no changing spaces, shower, tea service after treatment. The bed and towel there were also not clean and outworn. I expected that they used THANN products as I found ads "Thann Spa" but it seemed not and nobody in the hotel knew about their products. Actually, they provide Thann products in the room and illy coffee too. I think you should try after a year or so then the hotel should be completed and staff will be well trained. Until then, they should give us much lower price to stay.

We stayed here for 5 days in May 2013. We had ocean view pool villa.

Cons:
1. They don't have their own pier. The speedboat stopped at Siam beach pier but it was a low tide and we couldn't get off. so they took our luggage and we have to go to the other stop. We were very tired when we arrived, when we reached the hotel - the girl at the reception didn't speak English and she didn't know anything about us. It was hot and we had to wait before they found our reservation and could arrange everything. Even though we called them before (which was not easy - because sometimes they just don't pick up the phone) and emailed them as well to tell them when we arrive.

2. The hotel is very isolated - the road from the main road to the hotel is very steep and very bumpy. You have to be very brave to ride a bike there. They don't have a car for rent. Bike was 500 baht a day, the taxi to the fishermen village and back is 2800 baht.

3. The beach is very dirty. Look at the pictures. Water was clean and there were a lot of waves so it is good to swim, but in general - nothing special

4. There is no wi-fi in the room, even though their website says the opposite. The wi-fi near the restaurants is hardly working, the signal is very very weak.

5. There is no telephone in the room. The hotel is located along the hill - so you have to go up and down every time you need something from the reception. When we asked for it the only thing they said was that there is no telephones at all.

6. The service is weird. We went to the boat trip and paid in the hotel - so they knew we were out - and when we arrived 5 hours later they still didn't clean the room. We have a little daughter and she sleeps in the middle of the day. so when the cleaner came - she was sleeping and we had to send them away. For my surprise they didn't come back at all and we had to ask for cleaning. The next day we ask to clean the room before noon and they didn't. I had to go to the reception 3 times (because we didn't have a telephone) still they were unable to solve this problem in half an hour and my daughter fall asleep before they came :(
I had to say that all the people are very friendly and they really want to help you but the system just isn't working...

7. The hotel is not good for children. The waterpool is boring and it is exposed to sun so you can't really swim there when the sun is too hot. The steps to the villa are quiet dangerous - I scratched my feet to blood 3 times even though I was careful. The doors to the toilet/shower zone are very heavy swing doors - not nice for children.

8. I couldn't really see the sea from our villa, you can see it on the pictures.

9. Really, there is nothing to do in this hotel and it is too complicated to go out :)

Pros:
1. The hotel have a free ride to the waterfall.
2. They give you a free bottle of wine when you arrive.
3. The food in the upper restaurant was very good!

As a conclusion - the hotel is very overpriced, people working there are nice, but service is bad.

Cham's House is lovely. Located next to a beautiful stretch of undeveloped beach it is one of the best places to stay in Koh Kood. The shady, manicured gardens surround spacious and well designed modern bungalows, and it is small enough to feel like a boutique hotel. It is quiet and private, and perfect for a honeymoon or just a romantic getaway.
However, Cham's was undergoing some construction while we were there (the only reason we could afford to spoil ourselves like this!) and are adding a new apartment style wing, spa, shop etc etc. whether this will make it too crowded is a question that someone else will have to answer.
We spent three nights here over New Year's Eve as a spoil to end our Koh Kood visit. It was fantastic. They put on the best New Year's Eve party with amazing seafood BBQ on the beach, and floating lanterns. We loved it.
The rooms are spacious and the terrazzo floored bathrooms with massive stone bathtubs are very luxurious. The decor is fresh and modern and comfortable. We didn't have a private pool villa, but the hotel pool was so quiet that we never saw anyone else there. The rim flow pool has wonderful views over the sculptural bungalow roofs to the sea, and there is always someone at hand to offer you a drink.
Breakfast was okay but probably a little disappointing for a hotel of this standard. I realise it is not always easy to get fresh produce on a small island and maybe a smaller selection with a more local flavour would work better rather than a buffet. There is such amazing fresh fruit on the island but we saw so little here. But, the restaurant on the beach front does excellent food and is great for sunsets and star filled evenings as well as fresh fruit smoothies while on the beach.
The staff are well trained and so friendly, and if there is a problem it gets fixed in seconds.
Cham's is really well run and the German manager doesn't miss a thing!
We loved Cham's

The resort is bran new it opened in May last year. Some construction is still on-going, but it didn't disturb our stay. We got a beautiful bungalow away from the others. After check-in, which went very smoothly, we sat down on the terrace and enjoyed the garden view.a few minutes later a waiter came with a bottle of red wine and some fruit as a Welcome greeting. The red wine was French, very good quality. All the amenities in the bath room was of the famous Thann brand.
We enjoyed a BBQ dinner for 2 - exclusively for us on jthe beach, which simply was fantastic. We had our own chef and waiter the whole evening. My husband was very thrilled that I had arranged this special birthday dinner for him. As a special gesture from the resort, we got a birthday cake. The staff were all very service-minded and attentive.

Room Tip: Ask for a bungalow near the beach and away from the walking street.
