Hideaway River Lodge by Leisure Hotels
Reviewed 25 January 2014

Went here from 15th-18th January 2014. We were 6 couples & had a gala time at the resort. Staff was very helpful specially the chef, who prepared dishes as per our wish if intimated a day in advance. Each time we found the food to be as per our tastes.
The property is located on riverside & has an awesome view on the riverside.
Only negative i could find was non functional Tata Sky DTH even when it started to drizzle. Also a fitness centre is required at the property which is missing at present.
Hotel has it all from Cultural events to Live guitar sessions & history of Jim Corbett National Park.
Will strongly recommend this property

Room Tip: Take independent suites which have been recently renovated.

This surely will be one of our most memorable outings. Beautiful property, great food and a wonderful staff.

We were at the hideaway for 3 nights of which we spent 1 at the Corbett Hideaway (which i guess is at the border of the national park) and then 2 nights at the Hideaway river lodge (which is inside the park). It is a mesmerizing trip to the Hideaway River Lodge. A 2 hr jeep ride through a mix of tar and dirt roads, then a 2 to 2.5 hrs trek (depending on how physically fit you are) to the cottages inside the jungle. You will catch sight of some amazing scenery of the jungle, mountains (catch a glimpse of a few Himalayan peaks) and village folks who live on these mountains, all the way.

Once inside you are absolutely cut off. Away from the maddening crowd, its a technology detox. No mobile phones and lights. There are solar lanterns to light up your room in the night. They take very good care of you inside and the cottages are very comfortable. The food is great considering it has to be brought in by porters. The nights are cold and dark (no electricity remember). The first time i was here (this is my second trip) we heard a herd of elephants who had come by the river trumpeting away to glory; which was really scary. They do have a electric fencing around the property to keep the animals away; but not sure if it would have held that herd back.

The naturalist takes you around the jungle to check out the flora and fauna of the place. The icing on the cake was a river-side picnic lunch that we had on one of the afternoons. Overall a 5 star experience. Mr. Saurabh and his team planned the activities very well and made sure our trip was very safe and comfortable.

The resort is a wonderfully located property. it is on the banks of the river Ramganga. It is close to the park gate as well. The staff is courteous and the accommodation is comfortable. The cottages are neat and the rooms of average size. The food is decent bordering on good and the spread is impressive. The resort is well looked after and the people are knowledgeable.

We had a great time at the resort. However if you book a vehicle from outside instead of the resort, it comes cheaper. We fixed up a vehicle to stay with us for the entire duration of stay and he was good, was affordable too.

The resort ends on the river banks and it is filled with birds and occasional wild animal who come to drink there. It is truly enjoyable. We visited the place in february and it was nice and cold and the stay was great!

Room Tip: Book your vehicle from the village rather than from the resort, it comes cheaper! For a good jungle...

The best thing about Hideaway is that located besides the Kosi river. A walk in the morning on the banks of the Kosi is an wonderful experience.
The restaurant serves amazing food and the desserts are the best.
But one bad thing is that the bathrooms stink and the room service is slow.
We went with with friend and had lot many kids with us and they had the best time.

Corbett Hideaway Lodge is a really good lodge in a supreme location for the National Park. It is on the river so gets a number of birds visiting. The food is wonderful and varied and the staff very friendly. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The grounds are a delight with wonderful plants and trees

The Corbett Hideway is probably the Best Hotel in Corbett National Park. Me & my Family had a splendid time here during our vacation recently. Their Rooms are very Spacious & good even for a family of four. They have two restaurants viz: Jim's Grill & Gurney House. Gurney House served delicious food & staff were always on their toes to serve us more better. We were rather pampered here a lot :). We were given any food we demanded for & within quick time.

Just behind the hotel runs the Koshi River & there is a small hill like mountain too here, which makes the place very Picturesque. They also have an inhouse SPA too. Since our trip was during Diwali Vacation, they used to keep many Games & Movie Previews in the Conference Hall that they have here. Their Travel Desk too was very efficient & used to manage all the Jeep Safari & our other travel needs.

Overall since this was our 1st Jungle kinda Retreat, we would give them a 4 and a half out of 5.

Room Tip: Even Cottages are good since they are closer to the Pool, Reception, children's Activities like...

The Crobett Hideaway is one of the most beautiful resorts in Jim Corbett. The resort situated in a mangrove with cottages dotting the landscape is on the banks of a small river and has picutre perfect setting. The rooms are well maintained and the food in the restaurant is also very good. The bar is also good and spend peaceful weekend here. The resort also has a spa and swimming pool. However be careful with your belongings as I lost my shoes which was kept outside the cottage for drying. Though complaint was given to the management there was no response.

Room Tip: Don't keep anything outside the cottage as you may lose it
