“Peaceful wetlands regenerated”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 November 2013

Fantastic place to take a bike ride, picnic, read a book , observe birds appreciate flora and fauna, or just appreciate nature. Situated just out from Yorkeys Knob this wetlands has been transformed replanted and looked recovered from old farming land. Sheltered Bird hides , sheltered barbecue tables and chairs, barbecues , toilet facilities this just has it all for a great afternoon or morning out with nature. Avoid middy and middle afternoon as the heat is horrendous with no breezes available. Also load with misquitos when it has rained a few days before and at dusk so insect repellant is a must. If you are lucky enough you will see rare birds and a wallaby or two take the dirt walking tracks around the lakes .

“Nice place for a walk”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 August 2013

It was about 2:30pm when I got here, so was pretty hot. Not a lot of wildlife around, would visit either early morning or late afternoon. Didn't get to walk around the whole area, but was nice to take pics of flowers, water and birds. This area was originally farmland, it has been turned into a lovely natural habitat for wildlife.

“Quiet for the weekend”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 July 2013 via mobile

My husband, myself and 2 year old daughter went for a stroll for around 1 hour. It was about 3-3.30pm and it was lovely not to hot, no mossies, bird life was a little scares but understandably it was not the best bird watching time. We will be back again

“Easy walking”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 February 2013

Visited at the end of the dry season so obviously was going to be dry but the boardwalk track was still interesting and it would be good to go again after the wet season. The lake was lovely but we were disappointed at the lack of bird life.

“Still Undiscovered”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 January 2013

I live 10 minutes from Cattana Wetlands and come here every so often for a walk as a form of exercise. It is quite clean and very well maintained and there is always something that catches your eye. There is also a variety of butterflies and beautiful bird life as well beautiful water lilies especially in the winter months. The nature walk is very good either on bare ground, the pavement or board walk so you get a good work out. It has all the amenities including toilets, sitting bench and BBQ areas needed to cater for everyone who visits so quite welcoming that way. The good thing about this wetlands when you visit is that you are bound to see someone or no one while walking or jogging at any one time.Still undiscovered but well worth a visit.
