“Not worth to experiment - 1 star hotel”

During my business trip to Hubli last month, I stayed at Hans Hotel for a couple of days. My experience was not good. Right from the time I checked in, the hotel dint have a front office person who could show me the room, the design of the room is confusing. The moment I checked into the room, I saw that the key holder was hanging without support. The lighting inside the room is poor. The rooms did not have the basic stuff like coffee maker. Coming to the food, its highly expensive for a tier 2 location and the taste was bad.

Room Tip: If you still want to experience this place, please do this at your risk.

Looked a very nice hotel from outside and always wanted to stay there since a long long time and finally got the chance after 20 years.

However the first impression after checkin was not so good. The lobby, passage, corridors, room condition was pathetic. The reception could not give me the wifi password for almost 30 minutes and 4 trials

Room Tip: Not worth the money

We had been to the Hotel on our way to Belgaum. The hotel boasts of a pretty good restaurant " The Lotus". Service was good, great continental food choice and pretty economical compared to Bangalore hotels. Will recommend to any one travelling towards Belgaum to visit this place for lunch or dinner.

We were running against time and landed pretty late in Hubli and as were were too exhausted to do any more travelling we decided to check into the first hotel google maps threw up for us. The hotel closest to our route was the Han Hotel. From the outside it looked very grand and Four starish from the outside. As we were a family travelling with kids, we were offered two suite options - Executive suite & the President Suite. We opted for the executive suite and charged us additionally for an extra bed, which i thought would be an extra bed... but it turned out to be a limp, uneven mattress on the floor and charged us Rs.600/- for it. Considering i was being given the suite, my expectations were very high but when i walked into the room, i was totally disappointed with the room facilities and amenities.
The bed linen was old and faded, the mattress was uncomfortable, the ac stop functioning and the technician was sent up promptly to clean the air filters, which was odd since this should be done as a routine. There was not hot water available and was informed that it would be available after 4 in the morning.

The bathroom hygiene and cleanliness was not up to the standards of a suite, as they call it. We felt cheated for the amount we paid for one night. I am sure we would have got a much better hotel at half the cost.

The buffet breakfast had very limited options and most of the lights in the coffee shop were switched off.

All in all it was a very disappointing experience and learnt a bitter experience of not judging a hotel by it lobby and front appearance ;) Especially a suite is not a suite across all hotels.

We were travelling by road from coorg to mumbai and decided to take a break for the night at Hubli. Most of the hotels we called up enroute were already full. we decided to stay at the Gateway Hotel, enroute we saw this hotel and decided to check it out. The hotel buidling from inside appears run down,so with great apprehensions we decided to check out the rooms. The room was large,clean and functional and looked comfortable. We ordered room service for dinner and the food was very good. The bathroom was clean. We had a good sleep and the next day when we went for breakfast to their restaurant,the service and the food made our stay completely worth it. All the staff were very polite and eager to serve and feed us. The quality of the food was simply too good. This review would be incomplete without a Special mention of Mr.Anthony and Mr.Yengappa from the restaurant, who served us with a personal touch,which is hard to find in so called five star hotels also.

We stayed for one night in the hans hotel and liked the room And it's cleanliness. However, the next morning the bathroom had water logging issues and we were moved to a new room. Apart from this, the room was ok. Nothing great!

The rooms are nice and they are renovating so it should be better the next time. The internet was down due to the renovations which they did not inform me at the time of booking, but I had a backup so no issues. The restaurant is very good, the ambiance as well as the quality of food. Over all a good place.
