When we arrived by boat, it was hard to take in just how beautiful Eden Lodge was! The welcome drinks were handed over with a "welcome to paradise" greeting which summed up exactly how I felt! The lodges are spacious and very comfortable and the lemurs climb the trees around them during the early evening. My daughter and I snorkelled here and swam with three turtles which were together. This was the only place whilst we holidayed in Madagascar that gave us that opportunity to swim with the turtles as it is so quiet that they stay very much near the lodge waters.
The food is fantastic, and most of the staff are delightful, although we felt a couple of the staff were a bit pushy and hanging out for a tip rather than genuinely caring about us. That is my only criticism and probably comes with the territory of an expensive establishment.
You can snorkel, take out a canoe, play volleyball, have a massage, nature walk, play bowls with the locals, fly a kite, take out the hobie cat or go on excursions. We saved the latter of these options until we left Eden Lodge as our three day stay seemed too short to leave such a beautiful place, we did everything else though!More
