“Fantastic pub, lovely food and VERY dog friendly!”
Reviewed 3 June 2014

We've just spent a week in a cottage in Erlestoke and was lucky enough to have this pub as our local. The interior is lovely and very welcoming. The landlord and lady we really lovely and made us feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble for them. We had two meals there and many drinks! The menu was great and all the meals were coked from fresh and absolutely delicious. On our first visit they brought over dog biscuits and made friends with our dog and chatted to us. The 2nd time we ate there we enquired about childrens meals and were happy to cook anything they wanted either off the menu or on at a smaller size. We really wish the pub was our local! Would highly recommend and would love to go back.

“Excellent”
Reviewed 26 February 2014

We stayed at the George and Dragon(see hotel review) for a weekend and we had a fabulous time. The food was excellent and a little different to the normal pub grub. On the first night my friend selected battered fish and chips. The potatoes were thick and chunky, crisp on outside and soft on the inside. Unusually my friend couldn't get through it all as the plate was full before the arrival of red cabbage and broccoli. As I had a bit of neuralgia I chose steak and mushroom pie with sauteed new potatoes. Once again, the meal was flawless and service prompt and friendly. We didn't sample the Sunday roast but after the comments we heard on Sunday that too sounds excellent.
If you are in the area pop in for some food or just a drink, everyone receives the same welcome in an old-fashioned village pub.

“sunday lunch”
Reviewed 29 December 2013

One of the best Sunday lunches that I have had. We visited as a family group of 12, every one commented on how good the service and food was.
