I stayed at Banyan Grove during my trip to Jorhat. It was my first trip to this place and Banyan Grove made it a memorable one.
The room was superb and while entering I felt like I was entering in a Royal Suite.
It was properly lit with a sofa-set and a LCD in the room. It gave me an instant thought that it could be a perfect honeymoon destination, or at-least a couple's getaway from the world.
The dinner was good and was cooked by the staff itself. The dining room gave clear indication about the British architecture and the fire-place confirmed it.
As I reached the place around 8 PM in the night, was not able to see the surroundings properly due to the darkness of the night (it gets dark pretty soon out there).
But when I woke up for a walk, the sight astonished me. The surrounding was so beautiful and calm that if given a choice, I would stay there for ever.
The Banyan Tree, in the middle of the place, explains why the name is kept as Banyan Grove. It's a huge tree with branches and roots spreading up to several meters.
As I went for a morning walk, the surrounding tea gardens gave such a beautiful sight that I couldn't help but switch on my camera and started clicking.
There is also a tea factory in the vicinity of the Banyan Grove.
In short those who are planning to have a calm and personal outing, it can be a perfect prospect. Some other purpose has also been mentioned earlier ;)
Have a nice time at Mistry Saheb's (other name of Banyan grove).
Tip: Don't forget to carry the woolens (as it gets cold in the evening) and camera (to capture the fantastic moments).
