The Golf course though extremely challenging due to narrow fairways, undulating ground, punishing roughs and deep bunkers, the maintenance of the fairways as also the rest of the course leaves a lot to be desired. Hazards are unmarked, many green side bunkers have grass in them, distance markers are confusing(mostly measured from the centre of the greens). While the greens are well kept and true, the fairways are badly maintained especially in the front nine. Fairways are bounded by tea plantation on both sides from where its impossible to play, forcing one to take a penalty drop, should one end up in them.

As regards the other amenities, it took us an hour and a half for lunch to be served on a Sunday afternoon. The swimming pool is actually a plunge bath. Gym is non existant as opposed to what one finds on the website. Service is slow though the staff is cheerful and hospitable.

Its a picturesque and beautiful Golf course that may be worth a visit if u dont mind the above. We played two rounds over the weekend which cost us around 1250/- per round less the bar and restaurant bill. A bit expensive for this part of the country. Over the two days that we played we hardly saw any other players on the course.

Overall a highly over rated place.

We visited the Kaziranga golf retreat in June2013 for a golf tournament...and instantly fell in love with the place. The cottages were all tastefully furnished with split Airconditioners wall mounted LCD televisions...in house tea makers with the tea garden premium tea bag teas which I personally relished a lot.The golf course was well maintained and we could see the entire course in a golf cart. The restaurant served all kinds of delicious cuisine...if going to Jorhat do visit it you will love its peace and beauty along with a game of Golf in a beautiful 18 hole course

Its a hidden gem tucked midst of a vast tea garden. I visited the place in the month of November and the climate was just right neither too cold nor too warm in the afternoon. The property is well maintained and a has a 18 hole Golf Course. The property has a British Raj bungalow as its anchor structure hosting a restaurant , a bar and couple of Heritage Rooms. As the Sun rises early in the morning in East India, the Golf Course and Tea Garden tempt you for a morning walk and if you a bird watcher , then you have enough of them for company. As the evening sets you have the pleasure of the Burra Saheb Bungalow's open courtyard for a drink or a dine session. By 6.30 PM you have a clear sky for star grazing .... All in all it's a Gem.. If you are in Jorhat - Kaziranga - Majuli circuit , do not miss this one.

Room Tip: Please ask for either a Heritage room or go for Room # 9 / # 10.

This is a place to visit if you are in the vicinity. If you are a golf player this is a must go place. Otherwise a lunch at this place is a very good option. The Food was scrumptious. Sit in the open for some appetisers and then if it gets hot for you you can move in to the airconditioned restaurant indoors.

The staff was very attentive.

It was a delight to visit the golf resort, Burra sahib's bungalow and the Banyan grove. The maintenance is good, food is upto our satisfaction. The employees are friendly with smiling faces.
The door in one of the toilets in the sitting room in Burra sahib's bungalow needs to be repaired and adjusted.
The Thengal manor is simply wonderful excepting the door in the washroom in the veranda.

This is probably a good tourist place to stay in the Jorhat area. Away from the town in the middle of the tea plantation it offers great scenic view. But the service is not upto the mark and the place looks not very frequented by people. The service guys a nice individuals and helpfull but looks untrained and underpaid. The management staff are very snobbish and make you feel as if they are doing a favor by letting you stay. overall a great location and nice place to stay but badly managed. Caution: Don't be surprised if you are the only guest for the night. And also look for the bed sheets check if it is changed after the last guest checked out.

It's a very good heritage hotel with newly developed cottages with a very well maintained 18-hole golf course. It's a very quiet place in this month with less tourists. The spa was closed which is a little bit disappointing. They don't provide the dental kit whereas they provide a sewing kit. The food in the restaurant was quite good.G

Room Tip: Cottages at a farther distance from the main bunglow are in a better shape.
