I'd heard the William had a good reputation for steaks so when I was asked out for dinner I suggested we try it, not having been before.
There is a comfortable seating area in the bar with leather sofas. The barman was very welcoming and we chose to eatbin the bar rather than the dining room.
My friend ordered calves liver rare and I had a sirloin steak rare. For me both were slightly overdone. I really do like my steak bloody and my friend wanted his liver literally flash fried. Although both were not as ordered they were very tasty.
Whilst most of the table service was good with a different waitress for each course, when we asked for another drink we were expected to go up to the bar ourselves just as the hot main course had been served. Luckily I managed to grab the barman who was collecting glasses at the time.
Price is not cheap but not extortionate. Overall a lovely evening. More
