“A nice place to stay...”
Reviewed 10 January 2014

We travelled from Chandigarh by road to kick off kids winter vacation. This place is ~22 km further down from Shimla. 22km is about 60-90 min on hill roads. This turned out to be a touch more than we would have wanted especially as we did want to spend time in Shimla too. The facility itself is quite nice. Great cottages for a family or even options for extended families. A great welcome package that is quite extensive and keeps surprising you for almost the initial hour or so. The welcome drink was quite an amazing concoction. Hot water is always there and that is great. The cottages are spacious and duplex. The attic is extremely nice and bed room is quite cosy tucked in a corner. Fire-place is good but the heating equipment could have been more contemporary. Food was certainly the high point. Breakfast and lunch are included in the charges and both were pretty good. There aren't great alternatives near by, so this was a big relief. They have a nice trek into wilderness area owned by them. There are a few games - pool, TT, chess, carrom and a very small putting green. However, nothing near what I had expected. Strangely, they do not have an arrangement with the Golf course for a driving range or a few holes. This was the big disappointment for me. Kufri isn't very far. There are plenty of monkeys that come on to the property in the day and then disappear into the wild at night. After the initial scare, it was actually fun to watch them as they aren't very aggressive.

Overall, a good experience. It is definitely pretty expensive for the comparable experiences in other places. They should include Golf, spruce up some games and add some conducted tours in the near-by area. However, if anyone is visiting Shimla for the first time, you may want to stay closer to the city unless an hour or two of drive through hills a day is okay with you.

I stayed for one night on 1 january .cottage stay is a good proposition but is expensive in return to wat is being given to you.Beware of monkeys as my younger daughter has a frightening experience with them.Nothing much to do around as there is only horse ride yo golf course.Buffet breakfast and dinner spread is average.Revolving restaurent is expensive.

The property is well designed and uses the terrain very well! Large families or groups should book the cottage, though even the 2-bedroom family room is a great option as it has a spacious living room. The rooms are clean, as is the bathroom. The staff is polite and helpful. The food was good. We were there for the New Year's Eve and the hotel organised a BBQ (good!) and DJ night on the 31st. Good entertainment. The fireworks display at 12 was spectacular.
The only downside, there isn't much to do around the hotel so people who are looking to explore will have to drive to shimla/kurfi/mashobra. It was too cold for the treks, maybe summers would be a better time.
Finally, the hotel is a tad expensive for the facilities they give.

We stayed at the hotel 2 nights FROM 4th Oct. to 6 th Oct. 2013 in a 2 bedroom Chalet. The chalet had 2 bedrooms and a drawing cum dining room to relax . All chalets are made of pine woods , ample furniture , very good clean and comfortable beds and clean wash rooms.
The rooms offered valley and mountain view which was very relaxing. Although new houses are constructed near the hotel still one could enjoy the valley view.
Monkeys in the premises force you to stay indoors but still it was a pleasure.
Lay out of the hotel is excellent with a revolving rooftop restaurant like icing on a cake.
Food quality good and as there were very few guests we were given the choice of ordering what ever we wanted for breakfast and dinner. Front desk and dining staff were very courteous.
We could not enjoy the swimming pool facility as it was under repairs.
The hotel markets itself as a premium property but they erred in a very minor detail.
They do not provide complimentary mineral water in rooms whereas even a 3 star hotel with a tariff of Rs. 3000 a day provide the same.
We expressed our views to the front desk executive for not providing the mineral water in rooms In the evening they sent mineral water to the rooms with an apology.
The hotel is quite expensive compared to any other premium hotel.
Do recommend the stay if you can ignore the expensive tag.

Me and my wife went to The Chalets for the first time and were very happy with our two day stay. It was comfortable, relaxing and enjoyable. The property is beautifully landscaped with lovely flowers and big lawns at different levels. Sit outs everywhere. Being at different levels there was adequate privacy and sitting areas. Huge pine trees abut the resort and the whole experience was wonderful. A special word for the staff who were without exception very warm and welcoming.

I visited the Chalets in Naldehra with my husband and 2.5 year old daughter and it was a memorable experience.

The property is beautifully designed and the space spread over different levels has been used very smartly. The landscaping is stunning and a walk through the entire resort is actually enough for a day's outing. We stayed there for two nights and the enjoyed every bit of it. It is located at a short walking distance from the golf course and overlooks the jungle on one side. The only drawback is the monkeys which roam around fearlessly in outdoor spaces - as long as you are not carrying food/ trying to feed them you are safe.

We had opted for a package which included dinner and breakfast and we found the food satisfactory. The room service was a little erratic but all the staff was extremely courteous. There is a pool but when we visited in early October, it was not functional. We were told that the it would get operational in a few days. In addition tp the pool, there is a TT table, carrom board, spa and kids play area. In case you intend to use the spa, please inform them in advance as they need to get the area ready.

All the spaces in the hotel are nicely designed and just staying in the room and walking around the place is relaxing enough. We were in room 101 which had a great view of the forest and a small sitout (was not able to use the sitout during the day bcos of the monkeys). There are also some cottages which would have better views - would suggest those if you are a larger group / multiple families which are travelling.

There was a revolving restaurant which we visited briefly but ended up eating in their dining area / outside the hotel during our short visit. The views from the restaurant are excellent but it is made in a really small space - go for it if you have time!

Overall a pleasant stay and would highly recommend it for anyone going to Naldehra.

We went in a group of 18-20 people and had the most amazing time. the resort is nice, i stayed in the bunglow with 3 rooms (duplex) spacious common sitting area in our bunglow and it had an amazing attached big lawn area all private secluded to us. so all our 20 friends used to get together there day and night around the fireplace and go crazy! the food got mixed reviews. one day it was really nice and the next average. service is good too. their pool was not heated , so dint get a chane to use. But the spa is nice.
