Reviewed 5 July 2014 via mobile

I stayed here with my family during 4-5 July, 2014. Based on my experience, I will not suggest to stay in thus hotel despite its good location.
To begin with, hotel is located about 200 meters from the bus stand of Narkanda. The road to hotel is in bad shape and has a steep slope so it is better to come by vehicle from the bus stand. The lawn outside the hotel provides good views of the valley, although it is not exceptional (hotel apple blossom, hptdc fagu has better views and located at almost same altitude and near to shimla). Room in which we stayed (104) was in a not maintained condition. There were open phone wires running on the floor. Linens and blankets smelled and were in damp, cold condition as if they were not washed from a long time. Washroom was spacious and clean, but the toilet cover was broken and was loose. Bed appeared to be very old and the room furniture was dirty, appeared very cheap. We felt very cold, uncomfortable in the room and got sleep only because we were tired after coming from shimla and visiting Hatu peak. It was strange that room was much colder than outside environment. Most of the time, there was no one on the reception counter for attending the guests. Electricity was off for a couple of hours and back up was provided after one hour as if there was no one in the staff who knew it. Hotel restaurant had decent options in food and beverages and quality was good even though service was slow. Hotel water tank overflowed for half an hour but no one noticed and no one was there to take action. The handles of room almirah were broken.
It is better to opt for hotel Mahamaya which provides better stay at even lesser price than this hotel, and is located in front of bus stand. Thus hotel needs major attention and upkeep. It is not value for money option neither provides a comfortable stay at the price they charge. It is better to eat at New Himalaya Dhaba at the bus stand which has more variety and delicious food. One should avoid this hotel.

We were driving to sangla and after reading about this hotel decided to halt for a night there... went to the reception desk n was told that all rooms were pre booked bcoz of high season in june, but fortunately for us they had a swiss tent which was vacant and at a decent price. My kid immediately jumped at the idea of staying in a tent and it was quite spacious with a toilet attached to it with all the amenities and very clean too. We enjoyed staying in the tent. The food was good too and they have swings too for kids a little below the main garden. The place had lovely views and even in the middle of june it was chilly. The stay in the tent was enjoyable and it was cosy inside. We stayed for another night in the same tent on our way back too. The only problem we faced was that the service was a bit slow bcoz of full house in the hotel but would always be ready to stay another time in this nice cosy n well located hotel.

Room Tip: We had the tent and it is a must try!

We stayed at this place as a stopover from Shimla to Tirthan valley. As Narkanda is at a little higher altitude than the other places, it is always cool here - even in summer. The location of the hotel is very good. The views from the place are great. Coming to the rooms, the rooms are huge and there is a lot of space in the room. The beds, towels and curtains are clean. Food is pretty decent. We just had dinner one night, so not much to say. The property is maintained well. It would be best if you wake up early morning and take a walk in the prpoerty. There is nothing else to do in Narkanda if you get out of the hotel. Overall a good experience staying in this hotel, but could be better.

Room Tip: Choose rooms available on the first floor to get a better view and ask for the rooms having valley v...

Stayed in the resort on way to and back from Kalpa. The resort itself is decent in terms of infrastructure and facilities and is maintained fairly well. The staff at the hotel could use some hospitality training though.

Never expected a government manage hotel to be efficient, neat & clean.

Hotel has located at beautiful location & very good view of mountain of Hatu peak.

Back side room has no view from room. Over all Good Hotel. Food on an expensive side, but no choice available in market.

All HPTC hotels are having same menu card and prices available throughout all guest houses across HP.

Room Tip: front view room. Hotel doesn't have any balcony system to enjoy the view of the narkanda
