Beautiful place .Had a family vacation ,Had a cottage room ,very well organized.Lots to do for a extra activities like tricking( its a huge property around 14 acres) ,,TT,many more..Food was very delicious and unlimited. The host were really good and kind.We had a nice homestay experience. We have visited many homestay 's but normally all homestay 's are equal to hotels, but INCHARA which is different,we felt like its our close relative house, away from hotels. And food and accomodation is very reasonable.
Its summer but in INCHARA very chilled ,we slept without FAN /AC with thick blanket because of more trees and huge garden.
Hates of to Mr.Ramesh for creating such a natural and beautiful homestay.

Nice location. Easily accessible. Not very far from the highway. Courteous hosts. Nice cook. Generous servings of food. Good place to walk, relax, stop midway while on a tour of the malnad areas.

Suggestion : Facilities like table tennis can be kept in a better state of readiness for guests to use.

Calm serene beautiful place indeed.Hospitality is very good.Serving of popular and local shimoga dishes was pretty delicious. There is no worry about safety, power cuts, taxi arrangements or any amenities required. They help with any thing you need. All the city dwellers who get busy breathing dust and smoke would be awed at such a green atmosphere and Mr.Ramesh's passion to protect nature is simply awesome. Its very nearby to tourist places too.

When i decided to see Jog falls i ended up looking at places about and ran into Inchara homestay.. called up Mr Ramesh , and the brief talk just reinforced my thot to go stay at this place . Its a lovely quaint place of 15 acres quietly sitting in the ofrest stretch of Mandegadde bang near the bird sanctuary ( though therez nothing exccepet cranes out there ) . The couple is very warm and friendly,.,, in some senses it feels like a relatives place.. mroe so since i was all by myself. The food is a typicla Malnad food but lots of variety in terms of veggies and i loved the river fish fried. The caretakers cum cooks are so loving and i feasted as i spoke in my broken miserable kannada. The rooms are simple and basic bu tthe entire setting of hte place is enchanting , bettlenut trees, mango trees, lots of pretty flowers. The lady of the house loves to do bonzai.. and the entire place is filled with small planters with arrested plants :)... the stay there was the best i had during my week long trip to the north karnataka .If you are the sort looking for a quiet homely place with bird and insect sounds, freshness n home cooked meals this place wudnt disappoint you.

Room Tip: The rooms built in new cottages are lovely opening out to the views of the jungles and mountains in...

It was a stormy Saturday evening, when myself, Pankaj and Devdatta were driving down from Bangalore to Shimoga. As usual, being a weekend, all the so called Hotels of Shimoga were full and were not accepting any reservations over telephone. This gave us the chance to explore homestays in the vicinity of Shimoga. Inchara Homestay was one of the first homestays we reviewed on TripAdvisor and decided that this would be the place we would be spending the night in. Unlike the hotels, we had inquired in, Inchara Homestay was more than happy to offer us accommodation for the night, with dinner, breakfast and lunch at a per person rate which was too good to be true. The hospitality at Inchara did not commence on our arrival there but had begun on our way to the HomeStay itself. Mr. Ramesh, the proprietor of Inchara, was kind enough to call us thrice on our way to Inchara just to ensure that we were on the right way. After crossing Shimoga at 2115 Hrs we could finally make it to Inchara by around 2200 Hrs and then is when the actual experience of "Paradise on Earth" began. Being offered a king size room we would have been more than happy to just throw our bag packs and plunge into an abyss of sleep in one of the beds to be least disturbed till the morning. But, dinner was ready for us and Mr. Ramesh had taken good care of the fact that all the three of us were non-vegetarians, and had got prepared some lovely chicken, salads, vegetables, dal and parboiled rice for us. After this nutritious, yet extremely tasteful, dinner, our need for sleep after this long drive of 350 kms was further accentuated and we fell asleep in no time.
The next morning was when we actually discovered the subtle nuances of Inchara. The name Homestay is quite an understatement for this place, to be frank. A series of plantations with almost all kinds of trees, plants and creepers, we were delighted to click photographs of almost everything that we were able to view with our own two eyes. Surrounded by various Gardens and Ponds we did for a point of time consider, why the hell should we visit Jog Falls when nature is so close to us. But that of course was not destined to happen. After having a delicious breakfast of Neer Dosa, Black Tea and Black Coffee and after clicking photographs to our heart and soul's content it was finally time for us to bid goodbye to Mr. Ramesh. Honestly, all of us were very emotional at that time as we had spent such a lovely 12 hrs at that place (08 hrs of sleep), that we were not satiated by that short tenure. But thanks to our offices on Monday morning we did leave Inchara that day only to visit it again at the earliest opportunity.
To conclude and sum it up all, I would like to thank Mr. Ramesh for his warm hospitality without which that night of ours could have been as nightmarish as one could imagine. Also, thanks to TripAdvisor for introducing us to this beautiful homestay. For those of you who might be thinking that I have exaggerated the facts in a fit of intoxication, need to visit this place at least once. The intoxication there would have a sweet hangover on you for a long time.
