“Teak musuem - where teak shows its true nature!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 April 2014

World's first teak museum located in Nilambur is about one and a half drive from Kozhikode. The road is heavenly. From the bottom of my heart I appreciate the concerned authorities for giving such a comfortable drive.
Upon reaching there, we find a curious looking statue. The curiosities do not end there. The teak museum is a wonder house. It is a double storied building showcasing teak in every way possible. Some of them are sure to leave you awe struck.
Outside the museum there is a garden. A vast one that has innumerable photo opportunities. So many flowers, so many plants. A wonderful sight.
It is better to take umbrella and a bottle of water before starting your visit. Do pay for camera, as the staff are very strict. In fact, one of the most striking thing is how well maintained the place is!
The teak museum is a guaranteed pleasure visit. Spending a few moments with trees surely brings serenity to mind.

“Excellent sight to see!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 November 2012 via mobile

Popularly known as Nilambur Teak Museum

Should be made more prominent & given much more importance. Enroute to Ooty, Advised to see during morning hours. Will post pics once available. Flora lovers should travel to this place. The travel & drive on the uneven greenery filled scenic road itself is a good experience. Have somebody else drive the vehicle, if you would like to experience these sights. Occasional sights of Deers & frequent sights of peacock & hen. If temp allows, avoid a/c in the vehicle & savour the cool breeze & fresh air from these areas. Allergic persons be cautious if dust or pollens. Last visit was in 2002. Will post updates, as I plan to visit again with kids.

“NILAMBUR AND TEAK”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 August 2012

I am a Nilamburite. I take this as an oppertunity to invite all who are showing interest to study the geographical conditions especially the golden designs of the famous Nilambur teak. Nilambur is a beautiful small and fast growing town of Malappuram District in the Kerala state . The first teak plantaion in the world is at Nilambur. All details of the teak plantaion and the general information of the teak trees are well explained at the Teak Museum. The Teak Museum is about at the end of the Nilambur town. It would be better to come and experience the atmosphere and utilise the facilities provided at the museum rather than to explain in words. There is garden, play ground to young children and a nice forest atmosphere around the museum along with monkeys and butterflys as natural habitants. I heartly welcome to all those who happens to read this review and request to visit this place to have a nice experience about the real natural forest and lot more. Feel free to contact me to 9946305109 because I can help you.
