As a family, we are always on the lookout for new restaurants to try and are prepared to travel for good food.
I’m a stickler for hygiene and won’t dine anywhere that doesn’t have a 5 star food hygiene rating.
Came across this gem online and decided to give it a whirl and am so glad we did. We were welcomed to our table by a lovely lady (the owner) who was very friendly which makes a great first impression. Our waitress was also a lovely young lady (think the owner’s daughter) and she was very friendly and attentive all evening.
Our table was at the back of the restaurant, pretty much away from all other tables. We didn’t mind this, although I must say that the lighting was a bit dim and could have been slightly brighter.
Onto the food and this was really lovely. The menu has something for all tastes and all of us enjoyed our meals. The beef burger was exceptional and I’ll definitely have that on my next visit. Kids all enjoyed their meals too.
One slight improvement/ recommendation would be to get a proper dessert menu. I always like something sweet after my meal. When asking about desserts, we were told they don’t have a menu as such but did have either Oreo cheesecake or chocolate mousse available. Without a menu and no pricing, I was a bit wary so gave it a miss.
As I was driving, we all had soft drinks. I would suggest that £2.20 for a black currant cordial and water for my son is a bit steep. Should be under a pound for that - but that is my only minor gripe.
We will definitely be back to try other items on the menu
