Great hospitality from Gail. The villa shows its age a bit but that adds to its charm. Fantastic sea views from all angles. The villa rambles down the cliff towards the sea. Simply unique, relaxing and peaceful

What a wonderful place. Fabulous sunrises and Gail hospitality was second to none. I would recommend this fabulous place to all who want something different from the large commercial hotels. We were recommended to villa Gail's and would recommend on.

Villa Gail really is just as the photos depict - fabulous views overlooking the water, with several terraces offering great places to sit and just take it all in. To wake up to the light on the water is truly an exceptional experience. Gail is a delightful, welcoming, kind and considerate owner. The breakfasts are great - lots of beautiful tropical fruit amongst toast and good jams etc. Rooms and facilities are clean and good value. Yorkeys Knob is a very attractive place and you can explore the beach, or go to the Boat Club for a good dinner overlooking the water with lots of fabulous boats. Cairns is so close. Really recommended.

We loved our stay at A Villa Gail and wished we could have stayed longer. Gail and her fabulous house are lovely. We stayed in the two bedroom apartment and used the sofa bed so that our teenagers had their own space. We arrived late at night and descending down and down we had no idea how spectacular the view would be in the morning. The Apartment is very spacious, yes it's not super modern but it is bright and clean and everything we could have wished for.
Gail booked us in for dinner at the Boat club which was a lovely start to our holiday. We left with a list of places to go and visit and we felt like we had a local insiders view to what to see and do in the area.

I think one of the other reviewers sums up our stay perfectly 'like staying with your favourite Aunt'.
Gail may you continue enjoy many more visitors and thank you for getting our holiday off to a perfect start.

A Villa Gail is a quaint B&B in Yorkeys Knob just north of Cairns. Gail was extremely accomadating. She gave us fresh fruit, toast, with plenty of butter and jam each morning. She booked our snorkeling trip to michaelmas cay and was even able to get us a discount. She gave recommendations for day trips and food. The snorkeling trip was fabulous. We might not recommend the trip to Kurunda for younger couples looking for a more rustic experience in Australia. However it can be hard to get away from the tourism and find much off the beaten path in Cairns. We stayed in the delux apartment, which had a fabulous view. We were able to watch the sunrise and have breakfast on the patio. A Villa Gail is quite beuatiful, however it is not for travelers looking for fancy furniture, or modern living accomodations.

If you want to feel like you are visiting Amalfi... you need to check out this place!

Spectacular views. Gail the hostess is completely lovely.

It was the perfect retreat, really. So quiet (except for the ocean - just the thing you want to hear.)

Secluded + picturesque!

Room Tip: If you don't like lots of stairs, ask to get a room closer to the top of the cliff... otherwise...

We stayed here too briefly; just a one night stopover before an early morning flight from Cairns. Just one sunset (and moonrise!) and sunrise were not enough! The views are simply stunning and the room quite comfortable. We really just slept there. Gail had stocked our fridge with some fruit for breakfast, which we nibbled at before we took off. Very convenient to the airport There are quite a number of stairs, though, so definitely not accessible by any means.
