This small but charming hotel is clean and modern. Nusha & Tihomir, your hosts, go out of their way to make your stay memorable. Don't hesitate to ask questions. I needed to get to a local bank to change money. Tihomir obliged me by driving to the bank on his way to the market. I accomplished my mission and got to see a little local color as a bonus.
Nusha speaks very good English and Tihomir is fluent in German. The hotel's tarriff includes breakfast. If you desire a specific item for breakfast, just ask Nusha if it is available and she will cheerfully provide it. All the meals are very inexpensive and tasty. I spent the entire month at Hitar Petar and thoroughly enjoyed consumming Nusha's culinary recommendations. Every dish was excellent.
The hotel a few kilometers out of the city toward Etara. If you are opposed to using local transportation (taxi & bus), this is probably not your best choice. I have stayed at other hotels in Gabrovo and I can honestly say that this hotel is more modern and cleaner than the others... by a large margin. Other patrons have expressed the same sentiments.
