Two and half hours could not secure a chair to have a drink or eat something. Can't order food as there is no where to eat it. It is frustrating and nothing is organized here.

Lots of fun had at this local hill by first-winter-in-Canada residents.
Easy 1 hour drive from home meant that we could fit in a 4 hour session on the slopes, and still eat two meals at home at our regular meal times! Loved the fact that we could pack a healthy lunch and eat it in the chalet next to a lovely warming fire … the only downside was the shortage of tables as they seemed to be 'reserved' by non-skiers OR bags sitting in, waiting for family/friends to return!!!
3 out of 4 family members had own equipment; ticket buying process was quick & easy, but sorting out rentals was 'painful'. The young staff on duty were nowhere to be seen (in the boot section) OR assisted only when asked, in others - the best service was in the ski fitting section by an older female staff member (thank you!!!). Next time round we'll know the drill, but considering we informed the initial staff member we were first-timers, she could have taken a quick 30 seconds to explain the process, as it is a bit unique (different sections=boots first, skiis/board next, helmet/stocks last).
The runs, although short, are good and there is enough variety to keep entertained and have lots of fun as a family. Lift lines were better than we expected except when private lessons were in session - all the instructors seemed to use the same lift !!? Easy enough, however, to change runs/lifts when you can get to the top. Unfortunately, we encountered technical problems with 2 other lifts during the 'lesson' period, which was a bit if a bummer.
Night skiing was awesome (a new experience for us) and made up for the time spent sitting idle on chairs earlier. Many people left the hill around 5pm so the freedom on the runs after that was fantastic.
The lifties were amiable & entertaining and did their best to keep the lines moving swiftly (they really do a great job) - thanks guys.
We'll be back to ski Snow Valley again for sure :)

A great day of skiing. Well kept runs and chalet added to the enjoyment. Courteous staff willing to assist and answer any questions. Not a huge place but enough variety of runs to entertain most Ontario skiers.
Take advantage of bookingbin advance online and save!!! I saved over 40% on a six hour pass.

Although there were school groups, they didnt seem to overwhelm the hills.

I would like to convey a very special thank you to the staff at Snow Valley. This past Sunday, after purchasing my eldest daughter a set of used ski boots (elsewhere) we decided to come skiing at our favorite spot, Snow Valley. Although she had tried them on when we purchased them, they were causing her a great deal of discomfort upon arrival, to the point that she was not wanting to ski (meanaing we all would have to return home). I mentioned this to your rental staff and they set to work right away to find her boots that fit. Within minutes they had her in super comfy boots and a smile on her face. She agreed to give it a try given that her feet felt better.

After all that trouble your staff did not even charge us for the rental, even after we discovered that we needed rental skis as well due to the different boots.

The evening was fantastic, she was so happy and confident. Without your staffs help and encouragement I suspect that she might not have skied again.

Anyone who is interested in trying skiing, or learning to ski, this resort is fantastic. Many of the slopes are family oriented and not intimidating for beginners.

We took our family to Snow Valley for a day out skiing. The boys are new skiers, ages 7 and 4. We found that the hill was very very popular with ski school lessons happening. My chief complaint is that the ski schools all landed at one lift at the same time, and then they got priority access to the chairs (which is typical, and not usually a problem). But it meant my family had to wait in line for 30 minutes to get on the lift (not exaggerating, there was a clock at the lift). The lift operator was working the line-up but didn't seem to have a system for which line merged when, so really it became a guessing game as to which line would advance next. Add in the ski schools now coming back down for trip #2 and it was just an awful cold wait. We paid for a ticket too!!!!

Second issue - the 4 year old gets a $8 ticket, which I love that it's so deeply discounted when we're buying for 3 other people. Son started to enjoy the Kidz Village area, actually skiing on his own and taking advice from Mom! So it was incredibly irritating, when yet again, here comes the ski school and we're kicked off the baby hill. No signage, no advance warning, just the boot.

The chalet is nice and it's easy to park and bring in a cooler bag of snacks.

But for the money we'll go to Mount St. Louis Moonstone next time. The hill isn't big enough to accommodate the volume of ski school traffic + regular tickets.
