“Quintessential English Village B&B”
Reviewed 12 May 2012

Our second visit to this excellent Bed and Breakfast in what must be one of the most typical English villages in the country - down to cricket on the green by the pub. Etiquette demands that you stop your car whilst the bowler runs in. Although I expect there is a Local rule for when the ball is hit into the back seat of a car that subsequently drives off! Oh and breakfast will keep you going all day and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. My only gripe was the shower nozzle drooped, but the bath was huge so I had a soak instead!

Stayed here for two nights. Jane and Guy were very friendly and gave us lots of information regarding sights and places to eat in the evenings. Tythe House is lovely and the breakfast was superb. I would definitely stay here again. The room was spacious and there were lots of leaflets on places to visit.

We have just enjoyed our second stay at Tythe House - it was every bit as good as our first! Jane and Guy are caring and generous hosts who do all they can to make their guests feel at home. The accommodation is very comfortable and maintained to a high standard. Breakfasts are delicious - with carefully selected ingredients and plenty of choice to suit all tastes. The house is situated in a quiet and idyllic part of the village, with the parish church nearby and it's just a short walk to the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal. Tythe House is easily accessible - the main A road between Bristol and Gloucester and Junction 13 of the M5 are a few minutes drive away.

We are looking foward to returning again!

We came upon this gem quite by chance and have been returning for several years, sometimes on the way to Cornwall and sometimes for a weekend's walking and bird-watching. Jane and Guy have always been perfect hosts and cannot do enough to make our stay most pleasurable. Breakfasts are brilliant and the rooms are always comfortable and clean. Their exstensive local knowledge allows them to advise on places of interest to visit, evento the point of sendind us to an' open gardens' day they knew we would love!

We have made numerous stays at Tythe House over recent years, and the standard set by hosts Guy and Jane have never fallen below excellent. Always prepared to share their knowledge of the area and acquiesce to any dietary or special needs. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, spotless and well appointed, and there is no better start to the day than the TH breakfast.

This was our second visit to Tythe House and will certainly not be our last. Jane and Guy could not be more charming, attentive hosts. Everything was first class, from our warm and comfortable bedroom to the most delicious breakfasts ever. Nothing was too much trouble. The location of this beautiful spacious house is just right for walking, birdwatching and just enjoying the surroundings. It is particularly convenient for visiting Slimbridge and it was a delight to discuss our sightings with our knowledgable hosts who were ever-ready to advise on places to visit. We were made so welcome - it was like coming back to old friends.
