I always visit this spot when I return to Barbados - nice bar, friendly staff, not too expensive, has a nice short beach...

“Fun fun fun”

Mullins beach bar has had a make-over! Over the years they have tried to make this bar in to more of a restaurant than a bar but now it has a new feel. Saturdays and Sundays they have a DJ and a band. The food is good the atmosphere is buzzing.

“Chilled out but traffic noise”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 April 2014

Right in front of our apartment so that's always good news. The beach bar is great. Not so keen on the Westmoreland having a load of sunbeds reserved for their guests. Seems like they are reserving some of the beach for themselves when all beaches on the island are free. Some hassle from the local boat hire/water sports crew but they are a friendly bunch.

“Not the best”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 April 2014

The beach is really too near the road. Probably one of the most crowded beaches (in relation to its size) that we visited during our stay (and we visited quite a lot). Sunbeds were the most expensive. We very much liked the food at the beach cafe. It was expensive but you certainly got what you paid for. Very nice staff. If you are staying in the St Lawrence Gap area I'd think twice about Mullins. Paynes Bay is far nicer in most ways (apart from the beach cafe situation - the one at Paynes is not satisfactory - the cook declined to serve food on our second visit even though the barman clearly thought food was available). Go to Paynes and take a picnic.
