My good Iady and I had the great pleasure of staying, for an all too brief 2 weeks, in this wonderful bijou hotel.

The rooms themselves were exquisitely appointed, very evocative and perfectly maintained throughout. They are secluded, peaceful and full of character.
What really sets this place above the norm is the wonderful hospitality and warm appreciation that the hostess and proprieter Androulla bestows upon her guests.

What I must recommend most highly of all is the wonderful homecooking made available on request to her guests by Androulla which is beautifully prepared, locally sourced, very reasonable and generously proportioned. - It is to be highly recommended. Vegetarian options are also available on request.

The village of Treis Elies has retained all of it's character and fine Cypriot coffee is available to the friendly traveller in any of three traditional kafenia in the village.
There is a small but dependable shop in the town which is run by the highly personable friendly and splendid Iannis who speaks perfect English - should your Greek be a little rusty!

The villa hotel itself is the perfect base for exploring the region and there are even several short-medium walks within a short drive.
It is also within a reasonably short drive of the Trodos hiking resort where many walks of varying degrees are laid out.
Day trips to the coast are easily do-able with a good morning start.

In short if you are considering staying in the Trodos area - I would highly recommend Spitiko toy Archonta and Treis Elies as, as authentic a Cypriot experience you could hope to gain while on vacation. Wonderful.

We rented a two bedroom apartment with friends to spend some relaxing time in this pretty mountain area. The apartment was rustic but very comfortable and clean with balcony overlooking the quiet village of Treis Elies.
Androula the owner cooked us a lovely meal (pre order day before arrival from web site menu) in the evening and breakfast was taken on the terrace. Its a unique and charming place to stay with a great host.

We spent 10 days with Androulla at her most charming guest house. This was an amazing break from the bustle of city life. If one needs to relax this is most definately the place to go. Androulla is an amazing woman and nothing is too much for her, she adds magic to your holiday. The village is gorgeous and at the same time as being remote, in 10 minutes you are able to enjoy the advantages of the nearby villages. I will not miss the oppurtunity of visiting this wonderful place again

This is a very special place run by an extraordinary lady.

We arrived in the mountains very late to find Androula waiting up for us with some tea and cake. At every turning of our holiday she endeavoured to point us in the right direction and ensure we had the best Cyprus experience. This was a warm, conscientious and attentive host who gave us privacy when we wanted it, but then good conversation and a warm welcome when we wished for company.

The house itself is a work of art. We were staying in the specious 'Antigone' rooms and got on well with a couple staying in 'Melanie' - the set up of the house allows you secluded spots (back gardens with hammocks, balconies) but also a central patio to share your breakfasts and holiday experiences. You can self-cater or pre order meals from the main house (a bit of a drive to the nearest restaurant mid-week)

The town itself is very remote but surrounded by nature trails, waterfalls and medieval bridges. It is untouched by the tourism of villages like Platres (good thing) but you will definitely need a car to get about.

We left the mountains for a few days on the beach, but immediately missed the warmth of the Spitiko. A total gem.

I didn't give this 5 * for sleep, only due to the August heat. Otherwise everything was excellent.

My partner had arranged for a surprise getaway for the weekend I had no idea where we were going. As soon as we arrived and I saw the place.... I was fascinated. We had a very warm welcome from Mrs. Androulla who showed us around the house. A beautiful, spotlessly clean traditional house with all necessities from A-Z and very homely and cosey. Arriving at 21:30pm and after a long drive, we were starving. Dinner was prearranged of course, we had Kleftico which Mrs. Androulla had traditionally cooked for us and a nice green healthy salad. The food was absoloutely delicious!!

We spent the whole weekend at 3elies, a relaxing and peaceful area and it was exactly what I would have asked for, getting away from the hot, noisy village we live in.

Mrs. Androulla suggested a few places we should visit , but we enjoyed just sitting on the balcony watching the trees and breathing fresh air! We were lucky to get some rain too on the Sunday and that was the finish off of our stay :(

We are already talking of going back during the winter season and we can't wait!

I would recommend the place to anyone who wants to get away form their busy and tiring daily routine. You will feel energized, relaxed and your batteries will be charged for sure :)

A big thank you to Mrs. Androulla and we will back soon to the 'Spitiko tou Archonta'.

We stayed here for 3 nights as part of a 2 week trip travelling around Southern Cyprus.

Driving toward Treis Elies, it was hard to believe that there is a village here, but all of a sudden, we came round a bend in the road and there it was! To Spitiko toy Archonta (we called it "Androulla's house" for ease!) is a beautifully restored property in a gorgeous little village. This is not a tourist village - no taverna here, but if you are looking for somewhere special, and a little bit different, then it is perfect.

Androulla greeted us with a warm welcome and gifts in our room of cherries, zivania and sweets made from grapes. She has put a huge amount of effort into her home and the results are brilliant. We stayed in Melanie House - with one bedroom (very comfy bed), a spacious lounge/kitchen area, balcony and outside patio. The standard of the accommodation is very high - fluffy towels; good shower; tv/cd player; fully equipped kitchen.

But what makes your stay here special is the opportunity to learn about Cypriot village life and traditions. We chose to eat breakfast and dinner with Androulla - be warned that you will need to do plenty of walking in the Troodos to work off the generous portions! There is a menu to choose from, we liked everything on it so we let Androulla make recommendations. All of the meals she cooked for us (Afelia/Roast Chicken/Kefthedes) were superb - and accompanied by fabulous salads, bread and veggies. At 12 euro (including dessert) this was exceptional value - all we had to do was bring the wine! Androulla kept coming out with "something else for you to try" and it was all wonderful. I'll never buy plastic wrapped halloumi in the UK again after trying some local village cheese!

Androulla also recommends drives, walks and places to visit and will provide maps and other information. We had a superb time here - combining scenic drives with great walks and visits to stunning frescoed churches. We ran out of time - there is so much to do in the surrounding area. There are also some lovely walks in and around the village.

The villagers of Treis Elies are really warm and friendly (most don't speak English but some do) and are delighted to see visitors there. The village shop was pretty well stocked for essentials - milk, bread, water, snacks, wine, beer. We did see a "market" of veggies set out at the coffee shop one evening.

If you want to get away from the "tourist trail" I highly recommend Treis Elies as a unique experience. We loved it and would definitely return.

I had the pleasure of staying a week in the beautiful surroundings of Trie Elies at the end of September when the temperature was just right for walking and admiring the wild flowers just about springing up again after the first rains of the Autumn. If you love nature and want to get away from the crowds this is the spot. Androula will make you feel as if you are part of the family but allowing you the space to breath in the peace of the area. She is also a fount of information on local walks and places of interest. The food is excellent and rooms are done with panache and a taste for the traditional.
