“Wonderful Weavers Cottage”
Reviewed 16 August 2017 for a stay in August 2017

Bonsall is a pretty village steeped in history. There's 2 pubs, a deli, a well maintained park and play field, a beautiful church and a nursery with gardens (although there is a charge to view the gardens)
There are walks to follow around the village and lots of information is supplied in the cottage.

The cottage itself is family friendly and well equipped. With a cosy downstairs and a light modern upstairs. Facilities include a travel cot and booster seat highchair, fully equipped kitchen, comfortable lounge area, lovely bathroom (with bath toys and child's seat). Bedrooms are comfortable with storage.

There's a steep garden which is very pretty it has a nice new decking area with outdoor seating.

Loads of quirky items to look at inside the cottage, plenty of toys and books for little people to amuse themselves with.

The cottage is cleaned to a high standard and communication with the owner/staff is quick, efficient friendly and helpful.

This is our second stay at Weavers Cottage and we will definitely return.

Thanks you

Picture is a view of the garden from the main bedroom, it doesn't really do it justice. Lots to explore.

“A perfect mix of old and new”
Reviewed 5 March 2017 for a stay in February 2017

Our last-minute booking at Weaver's cottage turned out even better than expected. Booking was quick and easy, as was finding the place. On entering the cottage it was warm and cosy, yet had plenty of space and good WiFi. Upstairs had a more modern feel to it, particularly the bathroom, with it's huge rolltop bath and fantastic shower which had too many jets to count and turned into a mini steam room at the touch of a button.
The village of Bonsall was quaint, with a good (but not great) pub in the King's Arm's about 100 metres from the cottage.
Plenty of walks in the area - we went over the hill to Matlock Bridge, along into Matlock Bath for lunch, then a steep climb up past the Heights of Abraham back to the village.
Overall a great weekend and we wouldn't hesitate to recommended Weaver's cottage to others.

“Stunning cottage in beautiful Peak District village”

Wonderful pre-Christmas stay in Weavers Cottage. The oroperty is truly beautiful - fabulous kitchen, bathroom and surrounding gardens. We loved the romantic and cosy feel of the sitting room and dining room too.

The village of Bonsall is a real find. It's completely unspoiled, very pretty abc has two great pubs with food and a village shop/delicatessen. It's a great spot to walk from or to travel around Derbyshire as we did.

The host, Jonathan, was charming and very helpful. We can't wait to come again..,

“Very charming Cottage”
Reviewed 26 August 2016 for a stay in August 2015

We stayed in this cottage with our two teenage boys. We loved this house, it is deceivingly big with a very unusual uphill garden which is great to explore. The bathroom and kitchen were wonderful and everywhere was clean. The bath is big enough for two, so it was nice to be able to have a bath with my hubby for a change! There is one car parking space across the road, this was useful as my husband adores his car and likes to keep a check on it, he even washed it whilst we were there. Wi-fi was a little weak downstairs so our sons sat right next to the router in the upstairs play area, so we hardly saw them when we were in the cottage, but that was no problem. There is a nice playing field within walking distance but not anything much else to do unless you take the car out. Just to mention but watch your shins whilst walking around the wooden bed in the double bedroom, both my hubby and i sported wonderful bruises after banging our legs. We ended up placing pillows over the corners of the bed!! We should have been more careful, anyway it was a great stay and easy to book.

Thanks for your comments. I will check the wifi strength downstairs and get it boosted if necessary. Regarding the village, the population is only about 800 but we do enjoy two pubs and a 7 day cafe/restaurant which is a pretty decent ratio for the Peak villages :)
Sorry about the shins - the bed in question is an all-round platform design (By peter maly at ligne roset) that has moveable cushions and can be a "day-bed" also.
