“The best cottage we have stayed in.”
Reviewed 25 March 2013 for a stay in March 2013

The quality of the furniture and fittings is excellent, not the owner's hand-me-downs that we have sometimes had in other lets. Spotlessly clean, welcoming and warm with the under floor heating a real boon in the cold weather we experienced. Our pre-school grandson was easily accommodated too, and on our rambles around the lanes the local people we passed with dogs and horses all stopped for a chat. We plan to return one day, hopefully when there is less risk of being completely snowed in!

“Just what we wanted, peaceful and modern”
Reviewed 20 February 2013 for a stay in February 2013

Had a fantastic time. Cottage very good value for money. Cottage very clean and modern with pretty much everything we could want. Location fantastic with beautiful sunrise from the master bedroom.

Norma was very flexible allowing us to extend our visit on the day we were going to leave. She welcomed you into the cottage with eggs from the farm and flowers.

Would highly recommend and will be staying again.

Few small tips: take a cafeteria with you, and the fridge is a little on the small side resulting in a 4pint milk not fitting in the door (without risk of breaking the plastic) or in the main part so we decanted to a jug. Not a big issue at all.

“Great place to relax, have fun and have good base for family holiday”
Reviewed 17 February 2013 for a stay in February 2013

We stayed here for a week in Feb 2013 (2 adults and a toddler) and found it brilliant. We did a lot of research into cottages in the Peak District, trying to find someway quiet, away from it all, a good base for exploring and with options for things to do with a 2 year old. This cottage met all of the above criteria. It's setting is fairly remote - a nice 10 minute walk to the cafe (good brunch btw) yet only 10 minutes drive to Matlock.

We had snow for couple of days so were a bit limited in getting out and about but still had fun (particularly the aforementioned toddler).

The place itself is modern, comfortable, well maintained and heated. Good size master bedroom (with great views of the hills). 2nd bedroom is smaller but again ideal for a single (or potentially 2) children.

Owner was friendly and really helpful (even adding a stairgate before we arrived). And the locals a great bunch too.

A quality place which I wouldn't hesitate in recommending if you fancy a place to chill out in.
