We stayed at this hotel on our roadtrip through France last week, because it was close to Mers-les-Bains. The rooms are very simple as in all Etap Hotels, the showers tiny and the sink is at the other side of the room, which is a bit odd. The mattress of the bed is quite hard though, so if you have a sore back, be prepared.

But for the value (56 euros) the hotel is clean and very convenient, and has secured parking. The breakfast was 4,95 euro per person and consisted of fresh bread, a selection of jams and some cheese, yoghurt and cereals. All in all, good value for the money, both the room and the breakfast.
Good location close to the Auchan supermarket and some other shops, and a 5 min drive away from Mers-les-Bains (where you have to try the restaurant les Mouettes!).

We chose this hotel as we have stayed here before and is within easy reach of channel ports for 1st or last day of a continental break. Have used ETAP hotels regularily over the years and some are excellent - others have been just average. This particular hotel is very close to several restaurants and there are supermarkets are within walking distance

Usual good value - but as an older person, I am not keen on washbasins in the room (I prefer to wash / clean teeth in the bathroom). Also bed although firm gave me an awful back-ache....................hence only average rating for this one.

The hotel is extremely well situated, close to town centres, road junction and shopping centre and restaurants. However the room left to be desired. Bed not high enough. No storage space for clothing. Washbasin on other side of room from toilet and shower (absolutely hopeless design !), no shelves or hooks in shower to place shampoo, soap etc. No lift-up seat for the toilet. Toilet recess to small to move in. Breakfast had good food but nearly all sweet - nothing savoury like ham, bacon, eggs etc. Personnel very off-hand and dining room badly designed ( food display in the centre and not to one side - too many people crossing each others' paths). One guest was ticked off for trying to take a yoghurt out of the dinging room with her. She had to eat it on the spot or not at all ! You really got the feeling you were being "observed" by the hotel manager every time you took a piece of bread. I got the feeling I was being watched by an eagle. On the last day we left at 11.30 pm (deadline is midday). My wife needed to return the room to collect something and the entry code would no longer work and when we asked them to open the front door to let us collect the final items, they looked at us in disgust and shrugged their shoulders. Finally one of the maids came down and opened the door manually. I will not be using ETAP hotel again. Use B & B if poss, they are friendlier and cheaper. Problem in Mers (80) is that the ETAP hotel is all there is !!
