Description: Zeerovers is a local bar and restaurant situated on the waterfront in the fishermen's town of Savaneta. Here we serve fresh fried fish and shrimps with side orders of fried plantain, french fries, pan bati(local version of cornbread), onions in vinegar and tartarsauce. Everything is served to you in a basket as you sit on the dock overlooking the water as fishermen bring in their catch which in fact could have been your meal if you came a few hours later. That said, this is not a place for fancy dining but rather a place where you are welcomed to kick back, relax and get your hands dirty.

Shrimp are fantastic and really fresh! The view is also to die for! Only comment I have is that the fish gets deep-fried as well.

If you wanna escape the stuffy euro and east coast packed palm beach area and experience a more laid back meal head to zee rover. The food was fresh and delicious and the atmosphere was relaxing and refreshing. Grab a tall presidente and sit out on the picnic tables on the dock to truly enjoy your dining experience.

My family went here after a recommendation from a server from another restaurant. We went on a Saturday and it was very busy. The way it works is you stand in line and wait to order your food. Then your order of either shrimp, fish, plantains, or fries, etc. is brought to the chef who deep fries everything. The they bring you the food in baskets and you eat it with you hands. It is very messy, but it is delicious. The plantains were my favorite part of the meal. They also serve onions on the side to put on your fish. I would NOT recommend going on a weekend. My dad waited in line to order for and hour and a half. Beer and drinks are local prices. Very good value. Great for a late lunch.

We love this place so much, we go back several times during our vacation, as the catch of the day can vary daily. The restaurant/bar is actually a covered pier, where local fisherman bring their catch of the day to be cleaned and cut. You will always enjoy fresh shrimp on the menu, and whatever has just been caught. This week we had bluefin tuna one day, grouper another day and barracuda- which they had just caught and were serving up, so we just had to go again ... You can order sides of french fries and fried plantains. And if you like a little zest on your seafood, ask them for their hot papaya sauce that is awesome! That's pretty much the extent of the menu, but you don't need more than that! Great for a lunch- early or late, and enjoy their bar drinks and beer. No table service, except that they do bring you your food cooked up in a large basket. Sinks throughout the area so you can wash up after your feast!

We wanted a place the locals would normally eat, so we were told to try Zee Rover. It's a unique experience where you get a giant based of lightly fried goodness. Shrimp were huge and tasted great. Basket comes with fresh fish of the day. Lots of locals hanging out. You eat on a covered patio by the water. Highly recommend to anyone would doesn't mind getting their hands a little dirty as they dig into a basket of great food. Price was pretty reasonable.
