Looking to escape the rat race and stop all the chatter in your head? Then look no further, paradise right here. Julie and Peter the most amazing proprietors, full of information, everything you could ever need to know. The vibe is delicious, weather devine and location outstanding. As a lone female I felt safe, welcome and most importantly to me relaxed. It truly was Heaven and am already planning my return. Highly, highly recommend.

Room Tip: All rooms are excellent, Air Con to escape the heat if you want, comfy beds and all allow you to fal...

Okay...it's a best-kept secret. I'm completely spoiled by this adorable little eclectic Bohemian place, right on the water, in a residential area. Run by the nicest family of Brits you'll ever meet (LOVE Julie, Peter & Jack), always friendly guests from all over the world, sandy beach right up to the swim/sun deck over the water. Good swimmers can head right over to a little reef island.

Every room is different, uniquely furnished, air conditioned, private baths, well-kept, immaculately clean, and are all self-catered to eat affordably, what you want, when you want.
Don't sweat that the rooms don't have "hot" water. It's Aruba where it's always hot and the water is sun-warmed all day! It's certainly not "cold" by most people's standards. Plus, all toilet paper in the bin is a standard Aruba requirement all over the island, except for the huge resorts that have their own treatment plants.

Not far from Mangel Halto, it's a reasonably short drive to just about anywhere, including the huge resorts with their casinos. Or, to Oranjastad's casinos where the locals go (and me). The Savaneta area, and its people, are the real Aruba, and Julie and Peter seek out the best local places for you to enjoy. Never experienced any place like it in ALL my Caribbean travels :-) Stayed there several times and am about to go again. Yay!!

From start to finish, a fantastic stay. Anyone who has bad things to say about this place is far too high maintenance. Julie made sure we always checked out the best local sites. San Nicholas is close by along with some great local beaches that are far away from the crowds. Take a cooler, a case of Chill beer, and just be. Will definitely be back.

Room Tip: Bottom room closest to the water is ideal.

We have stayed at coral reef 5 times and LOVE IT. Have stayed in "di sney aruba" at the resorts and NEVER will again! Coral reef is true aruba! Julie n peter make sure every aspect of your vacation is perfect!! Been there with the kids and also alone with wife and couldnt ask for better place either way. Rooms are clean and comfortable always. They take every oportunity to give you a true arban vacation. Julie helped us rent a car and led us to romantic beaches(where we were the ONLY ones on the beach! Great for the romantic! They took us to the best "local" bars and resteraunts. At these places you get the true island feel. You can get the regular chain resteraunts at home, but if you want to really experience the true island atmosphere, you have to go to where the islanders go! They booked snorkling trips, romantic dinner cruises, and more fun than you can imagine!! Some of the BEST snorking on the island(and I have be diving n snorkling all over the island) is a short swim right off their dock. There we saw sea turtles, fish, and octopus. We also saw lobster and the most beautiful water around. And the best part about this spot is........no other people around!! If you want privacy you get it with direction to anything you could possibly want, and if you want a real blast they will take you to the best resteraunts, nightclubs and bars on the island! A true perfect destination that cant be topped!!! We will never go anywhere else!! If you stay at coral reef and dont have a great vacation.........its your own fault. One thing I dont understand about jaxtravels post is how he stayed only 1 night and had to leave but still said he returned from lunch "one day" and found the door open???? Dont let one crazy post tarnish your veiws of a WONDERFUL place withWONDERFUL PEOPLE!! Although.....I really dont want too many people to find out about this paradise(I want it all to myself) but I hate to see somebody who seems unpleasable to taint the reality of this wonderful place and wonderful hosts!! So you can decide for yourself but I know the treasure I have found....CHEERS....BON BINI!!!!

Room Tip: The treehouse is our choice for family, but for romance the studio rooms are tops. The balcony you c...

It is exactly as described when we booked, no surpises. The place is right on the water with sand, sun and fun! There is a local fish store down the road where you can purchase the catch of the day and bring it back to cook on the barbeque for dinner. It is clean, there is a maid that comes every morning. The Owner is on site and will let you borrow anything you may have left at home like coolers or sunglasses. They go out of the way to make sure you are having an awesome holiday. The area is not as congested as O' Town in the north. Mangel Halto has the best snorkeling just up the road, less than five minute drive and is free to park and use the pavilions or you can snorkel right off the dock here. There are sand fleas that bite in the evening when sitting out of doors, just use some bug spray. The Flying Fishbone is right next door and the tables are in the sand along the beach and they have sand-fleas too. You pay extra for the electric and water but only $2 or $3 dollars U.S. a day depending on what you use, it is all metered and it was listed on Hostelworld.com so no surprise. If I come back to Aruba this is where I will stay...We dined with the other guests and made some new friends, even went on an adventure with a few to the Natural Pool..(u must have a jeep or tall 4 wheel drive for that! But it is worth it!) Staying at Coral Reef Beach was a great choice for me. I am up in Palm Beach area now and it is a tourist trap.

Room Tip: Try and get the room where the beds push out onto the deck...We booked a week before arrival and was...

After reading the reviews of this place I did not think a bad experience was possible. After staying one night, we had to pack up and leave with no refund - it was that bad! I don't see how anyone other than an 18 year old backpacker could enjoy this place. The rooms are small and VERY DIRTY. The shower has only COLD water and there is no pressure at all. The beds are hard and uncomfortable. The furniture looks and feels like it was washed up on shore from a sunken cruise ship from the 1960's. The doors / windows do not shut properly and are in need of repair, thus many bugs get inside. We woke up the next morning with ichy red dots from bug bites. We even returned one afternoon from going out to lunch to find there were 2 big cats running around inside our room (ewww!!) because the door was left open by the maid and someone had placed cat food on the roof of the first floor (the treehouse - where we stayed - is on the second floor, but there is a back door leading to the roof of the 1st floor where the cats where running in and out of our room to get the food). You are charged for any use of lights / water at an additional rate.

Other than the staff being kind, there is no reason to stay here!
