It was really good to visit a proper working factory and see the lovely glass items being blown. Nice to see an idea from 50 years ago still bearing fruit and employing people. Good exhibition and cafe and a large sale showroom where there were many bargains. Also impressive to see the length of service of many of the staff. Well worth a visit.

Really good and very interesting to see skilled craftsmen at work. Very informative visitor centre, and well stocked gift shop. I really enjoyed the tour. Also recommend cafe. Excellent scones.

When in North Devon, a visit to Dartington crystal is a must. As well as seeing the skilled glassblowers at work, there is an excellent showroom with finished products to see and buy if you wish. There are also franchises stores within the store including Edinborough Woolen Mill, together with an excellent restaurant. Plenty of other things to do in Torrington too. Be sure to visit Torrington Commons.

The shop is amazing and makes one want to spend money BUT the education centre /museum leaves a lot to be desired. The exhibits are run down and the water cascade over the glasses is even rusty. The centre is full of stuff that is not Dartington Crystal. The glass blowing is a 30 second experience and the glass one gets that supposedly one has blown, could be anyone's and the engraving on the bottom is shoddy. The staff show no interest in their customers at all and when compared to the Quince Honey Farm in South Molton, it is appalling...the tour is self led and staff appear really miserable and unhelpful. Whereas at The Quince Farm, a chap gave us a lively, humorous and informative tour. They lack the initiative too in taking photos of the glass blowing. Also the information plaques do not always relate to what is actually happening. We also had to ask for the video to be started at half ten when they had been open for a while! No-one maximises the potential of this amazing facility and it is about twenty years behind the times. It could be so much better.

Dear Mikey W

Firstly I would like to thank you for taking the time to write your review regarding your recent visit to Dartington Crystal. It's a disappointing review for all of us at Dartington Crystal. Some of the points that you raised can be addressed and improved upon moving forward particularly the rust on the Crystal Fountain. We note your comment regarding the running of the video therefore this will be addressed moving forward.

I note your point regarding the glass blowing experience. I feel it would only be fair to point out that the glass blowing experience has a duration of 10 minutes and I give you my word that the glasses are not anyone else's other than the person who blew the glass. The etched detail on the bottom of the glass is purely there to ensure we do get the correct glass to it's creator.

I am delighted to learn that you enjoyed your experience at the Quince Honey Farm and hope that you can find the time to give them the review they deserve.

We do not claim to offer guided tours, however, I can only apologise that our customer service did not meet your expectations. We do however offer extensive literature and experienced staff are on hand to answer any questions that visitors have.

I hope you will be pleased to know that we will be replacing the information labels in our display cabinets very soon. The visitor centre houses over 400 Dartington Crystal products including the very first pieces produced in 1967. We also have over 100 pieces from our sister company Royal Brierley which holds two Royal Warrants.

We are pleased to see that you felt the shop here was amazing. Please be assured that your feedback will be considered for any future plans and development.

Thank you once again
