Roses roses roses! This garden is so beautifully laid out and full of colour and scent. A truly stunning assault (in a good way!) of the senses. And when you are tired of the profusion there is the lake and meadow, so calm and peaceful, and lovely grounds to wander in. Plenty of benches to sit and dream on too. A fantastic achievement of design, planting and colour.

“Spring Visit to RHS Rosemore, Devon”
Reviewed 1 July 2014

Having followed the development of Rosemoor since Lady Ann passed it over to the Royal Horticultural Society I can truly recommend a superb garden area in a wonderful setting. From flowers to shrubs and roses and then the horticultural areas together with the lake and trees make this a must see attraction.

Thank you for your review, it is great to hear your children enjoyed the garden, it is so inspiring for all ages. We have a wonderfully full program of events for children throughout the summer holidays this year all connected to our Journey into Middle Earth exhibition. please have a look on our website for more details. “Lovely Gardens, But Not Quite RHS Standard”
Reviewed 26 June 2014

Rosemoor is a lovely restful place, different in style to the other RHS gardens we have visited. On arrival, we were impressed by the fabulous lush green grass, without a single weed in sight. There are plenty of benches around the gardens, where you can just sit and enjoy the view.
As well as enjoying the gardens, we had a lovely cream tea at the Wisteria Tea Room, although available tables were limited and our rickety table had to be supported by a chair!
We visited Rosemoor just before the Rose Weekend and the rose displays were spectacular, both with the varieties and the abundance of blooms. There were an awful lot of dead heads and we thought there would be a rush of activity at the end of the week in preparation for the weekend, so we returned on the Friday. We were disappointed to find that little had changed and the one or two staff dead-heading were in no hurry to get the job done.
We also found that plant labelling was a bit hit-and-miss. Quite a lot of plants had no label at all and some labels were in the middle of the wrong plant. OK if you're a plant expert and know what you're looking at, but for the uninitiated, it could be very confusing.
Overall, Rosemoor is beautiful and relaxing, but apart from the fabulous grass, we found it lacked the RHS crispness and attention to detail we have experienced at Hyde Hall and Wisley.
