Was a Fantastic weekend stay. We were received by the managers young, charming son, who offered us complimentary tea and cake after showing us to our room. The Earls room was extremely comfortable, with a delightful bed, and en suite bathroom. After an excellent nights sleep ,we were given breakfast in the main house at our requested time. The full English breakfast was hearty, while the smoked salmon and scramble eggs was delicious. There was plenty of information on the local attractions and places to eat out. The local Pub seemed more like a London restaurant than the usual country watering hole and provided a splendid evening of dining. On the Whole it was a hugely enjoyable stay

Room Tip: The pool is outside and therefore only open in the summer months.

Dear Guests
The housekeeper showed the guests the Earls room which has an ensuite bathroom accessed via an archway.( neither loo or bath is visible from bedroom) The guests commented on how nice the room was and then decided to change their minds the next day, having used the room of course. The guests ate their breakfast with gusto, and did not mention that they would prefer brown bread to white, as always happy to accommodate guest s requirements. These guests made very positive comments in the visitors book of "excellent stay" .yours the manager

The Old Rectory is set in the peaceful, beautiful Norfolk countryside, close to places of interest and within easy reach of London. I stayed for two memorable days in a very comfortable bedroom with excellent breakfasts on both mornings. Veronica, my hostess, was charming and helpful for my, all too short, stay. Returning after a days's excursion and being able to have a swim in the pool is a rare treat not found in many B&Bs. All in all it was a very pleasurable experience.

I stayed at the Old Rectory for a weekend visit. Delightful host and comfortable accommodation. For anyone wanting a friendly bed and breakfast home stay in a typically English setting then I would highly recommend the Old Rectory. Just a pity that being there in the spring it wasn't possible to use the outdoor pool!

A really wonderful and quite unique b and b experience. Veronica is a charming hostess and makes her guests feel instantly welcome and part of her home.
Service is friendly without being obtrusive. It was a pity that staying in the spring meant we couldn't use the outdoor pool! If you are looking for b and b stay in a typically English setting then I would thoroughly recommend the Old Rectory.

Well located to visit local attractions in the Norfolk area, and also not far from Downham Market, which is easily accessed by train from London and Cambridge.

There were two sides to our stay at the Old Rectory. It is in a lovely setting, with views across the fields to Oxborough Hall. We enjoyed excellent food in the local pubs, and it is a good location for visiting the Norfolk coast, Sandringham and Ely. Tea and cake on the terrace on arrival was a treat.

However, the house is not in the best condition, with quite a few cobwebs in evidence. Veronica and her affable husband Giles leave you to your own devices and tell you to make yourselves at home, which means you make your own bed etc. At breakfast, while the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs were good, the basic yoghurts and doughy sliced white toast weren’t quite in the same class. There is very little clothes storage – unless you count three hangers on a coatrack. And, to cap it all, the Earl’s Room is totally ensuite even to the extent of no door to the WC, which wasn’t to our liking at all! After the first night we requested a move to another room and luckily we were able to change to the Devon Room inside the main house, which was fine and had a bathroom door.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the main house, as those in the coach house don't have doors on the ensuite ba...

Stayed at The Old Rectory in Oxborough for my 50th. Second time I have stayed and thoroughly enjoyed it. Cannot rate this hotel highly enough. Luxurious country house, beautiful breakfast. Peaceful location for the get away from it all experience. I have never been more relaxed anywhere!

Room Tip: I can't actually comment on pool as we did not use it and no fitness centre that I am aware of b...
