“Delightful”
Reviewed 1 September 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We stayed with our daughter's family for a week and cannot fault any part of the experience.

On entering the front door we immediately felt at home. Everything has been thought of and delivered at the quality end of what you would expect

The beds were so comfortable, I've not slept that well for years, however it could be the stunning walks we took with the dogs, who were welcomed to stay in the kitchen and hall, which tired us out!!

The decor, equipment and location were all superb.

The patio is equipped with good size BBQ and charcoal!! Together with comfy garden furniture.

Very close to Langholm amenities with well stocked Co-op, yet isolated for a bit of rat race escapism

Only negative was the grass hadn't been cut, however it had been very wet so may have been just a timing issue

Don't go if you are looking for entertainment but if you simply want to hide, there cannot be many better places in the region

“Very comfortable and well furnished cottage”
Reviewed 16 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We had a wonderful relaxing stay. Peaceful cottage not overlooked and was near Langholm. Cottage is accessible to wheelchair users. My daughter was able to negotiate around the cottage comfortably especially the bathroom space. Bedrooms were large with plenty of room around the beds. Beds very comfortable, which is always a bonus.

The town of Langholm is full of unique shops, loved the ironmongers which was like an Aladdin's cave. Meat from the butchers excellent. Townfolk were accommodating when it came to eating out, especially Eskdale Hotel. We could not access the restaurant but they catered for our party in the library and we were very well looked after. Thankyou Masha and Christopher for letting us stay in your delightful cottage and hope to return again soon.

“A beautifully renovated, well equipped and tastefully decorated cottage, set in an idyllic situation.”
Reviewed 1 July 2015 for a stay in June 2015

The cottage is set in a lovely tranquil spot close to the river, yet close enough to Langholm to enjoy a lovely walk to the towns shops or hotels for excellent meals. It is very well equipped and spotlessly clean. The owners have put a great deal of effort and thought into what the holidaymakers would need and like. The cottage caters well for people who have a disability or problems walking,as it is all on one level and has plenty of space. It is also pet friendly, our two dogs loved the walks in the woods, and along the river to the island.

“Idyllic peaceful cottage”
Reviewed 7 April 2015 for a stay in April 2015

The cottage was in a beautiful area, right on the river with stunning views and lovely walks. The cottage is decorated beautifully and was very cosy and comfortable, especially with the log fire in the evening. The children also loved the tranquillity of the surroundings, listening to the pheasants and sheep, watching the bunnies. Would definitely recommend this cottage. It was perfect for de-stressing too. The only thing we struggled with was lack of baking trays/ovenware for some meals but that is a very minor thing.

We don't usually return to the same place twice but I would certainly return here, it was just amazing. Our dog loved it too, was great to be able to go for walks as soon as you step out of the door and not worry about putting a lead on. Fabulous break, that we didn't want to end.

On our first stop over to this area we were lucky to stumble across Broomholmknowe Cottage. The cottage is situated down a private estate road, plenty of private parking. Entrance hall airy and spacious, all other rooms very tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. This was a brill find and our family was delighted in every way, we hope to return.

“A beautiful, tranquil part of the world, ideal for a complete rest.”
Reviewed 9 August 2014 for a stay in July 2014

This was our second holiday in Scotland and it was as enjoyable as our first, when we travelled on the Caledonian Canal from Inverness to Fort William.

We chose this cottage because it was pet friendly and having two dogs, we do have some difficulty finding accommodation that is suitable for all the family.

The standard of accommodation was extremely high with a well equipped kitchen, barbeque area and lovely patio, which makes the most of the sunshine.

The internet access was welcomed by our two boys, who don't appear to be able to live without it, but for those of us who can, it is a truly relaxing spot. The walks along the River Esk were wonderful and at night, all you could hear was the odd hoot from an owl.

The town of Langholm is not too far a walk away and has a good variety of shops. The local Town Hall and Tourist Information Centre are worth a visit and we picked up a great leaflet about local walks in and around Langholm, so you don't need to drive everywhere, unless you want to.

We visited Gretna Green and Dumfries and on each occasion the journey was straightforward.

Overall, a welcoming cottage with very good faciities.
